Changing the oil on my Reflex before taking it around for the holiday weekend. Put the filter and spring on. Hand tightened the oil plug. Turned it a quarter of a turn on the wrench. I hear "Ping" and the plug falls off. Take a wild guess where the rest of it is? Yep still threaded holding the spring and filter in. No clue how to get it out. Local Honda dealer will change me $80 just to look at it before they even touch it. Any ideas?

Take some long nose pliers and spread them out inside and start unscrewing it. YOU TIGHTEN IT TO MUCH. Alleyoop

Holy smokes,,yeah that big 17mm makes you think you can crank down on it pretty good,,but all you have to do is set the o-ring and give it a little snug.Could have been a bum plug also...surprising from a HONDA..lol
It should come right out like alley said,,heck there is nothing there for it to tighten up on..a huge easy out will do it too,,dont think I ever saw one that big though,,but they have em...

Could not get needle nose pliers in...spring and the filter in the way.....But I did get a screwdriver and very easily push it counter clockwise....just a little movement then could completely unscrew it the broken piece out..... Now to found a source online that sells the Reflex Oil plug cap.

Your local Honda or PowerSports dealers or independent repair shops may surprise you and have several collecting dust on their shelves which they many times will sell you at reasonable cost. The local Vespa Dealer did not realize at first that they carried the same Piaggio belt that was used in my Aprilia however once I told them the Piaggio number and not the retagged Aprilia number they found it for less money and it was the exact same belt.

I learned early to keep a spare on hand . Carefully break the skinny part and pick the rest out . Raise up or lean the scooter as much as you can .

For that matter...what about a CFMoto Fashion or Qlink Commuter, both bolt-for-bolt copies of a Helix?
