cant seem to get it to turn over.
New Battery.
Do have spark.
Did the valves not too long ago, and havent been able to ride it since so assuming they are still set.
New ignition coil.
any suggestions? thanks.

How is the fuel flow at the carb,,pull the line off where the fuel line connects to the carb fuel inlet and put the line in a cup or can,,then crank to see if fuel is spurting out...if so the carb might be dirty or maybe a jet came loose,if no fuel make sure you have flow to the pet cock,,if so the petcock might be bad,,just put a manual one on there from Lowes,check tank vent make sure its open,,you have spark so my guess is fuel delivery problem,,or maybe the valves where not done right causing a low or no compression status.Hows it feel when you push on the kick starter,,pretty hard to push?
Also if you have flow to the carb make sure the fuel is getting to the bowl by trying to unscrew the little drain bolt at the bottom of the bowl line drain.Ive seen needle valves stuck closed before...not allowing any fuel to the bowl.

Are you sure you have spark, many folks say I have spark but really never tested for it they just assume they have spark.
So please tell us how you verified that you have spark.
Also to find out if it is lack of fuel as you cranked it like that in the video THEN TAKE Out the plug if it is wet you have fuel BUT NO SPARK pretty simple. If it is dry NO FUEL is being sucked out of the carb so then you need to find out where your loosing fuel flow. Start with with Jersey said by taking the fuel hose off the carb. If fuel flows out while cranking then its the carb. If not then its your fuel filter, petcock or blocked gas tank.

Kick feels the same as ever has... just doesn't do much.
I do feel air coming out of the tube off the valve cover when trying to start.
Checked the plug against the frame - blue spark.
Ill give all this a shot tomorrow. I was gonna replace the fuel lines so that lens itself to a couple of these items.
ill try all this and get back.

That is not how to check for spark. You need to check for spark holding the spark plug ON THE MOTOR. If the motor does not have a good ground or no ground the spark plug will not fire while in the motor. That is a mistake many make checking for spark on the frame. Remember the motor is mounted on the swingarm with RUBBER BUSHINGS.

Alleyoop is right, you have a ground wire going from the frame to the engine, on many it's attached at the valve cover. If no ground is present to the engine there will be no spark. Could very well be as simple as having a bad ground going to the engine.

I use a battery jumper lead put one end of a jumper lead on the metal end of the spark plug and the other end connected to the valve cover No shocks  |

Hey thanks again
So today I checked for spark again the engine (valve cover) still got spark, but didn't look as strong.
I replaced the fuel line and filter. I checked the petcock by pulling the vacuum line, and manually compressing it and the fuel flowed great. Connected everything back up and same issue.
Thought about the spark being a bit weak so cleaned up the ground (off the battery) almost fully turned over... got it to turn on a kick start and died.
Then the battery died, no running - no charge. uhg. Went and had it charged.
I redid the valves as well to be sure. .004 on top, .005 on the bottom. Still not turing over.
Thinking to pull the carb tomorrow and clean it up as it has sat for awhile.
Any assistance is appreciated.

You should have a GROUND WIRE FROM THE FRAME TO THE MOTOR. So do this get a piece of wire loosen the top right bolt on the valve cover and connect the wire to the valve bolt and then the other end to the frame. From what you just said you cleaned the neg battery post. That wire should also go to the FRAME so you will have TWO GROUNDs going to the frame I from the battery and one from the Valve bolt then of course any little thin green wires that may already be grounded.

Totally understood. Except... I dont have a top right valve cover bolt. upper left, lower right. Similar style coverIm sure I can find one, but any other recommended bolt locations to add a ground? Ill take a more thorough look as there might be a ground i never noticed, not having been looking for one. |

Doesn't matter which bolt, Alleyoop's suggestion was just for ease of placement. Just bolt the wire on to the valve cover, and the other end to the frame.
