JR, alleyoop, Doug, JerryScript, skuttadawg, For my fourth variator in under 10 kilometers, I decided to stop buying junk. Alleyoop recommended John (Tvnacman) for a mid-quality (all I could afford) Koso variator with 6g sliders. She's faster than she's ever been, and for the first time ever has seen 8k rpm chinameter. I'll never buy a Chinese scooter again, but whatever I get next, I'll be sure to get quality parts the first time.

I bought a Koso from John as well. I had to take a mini-file to the red alignment pieces and smooth where they contact the metal so it slides effortlessly. I'd happily buy another one. And John has done me right - great support.

I tested mine repeatedly and the glide was good but I did put a little graphite lube on the posts as I always do. One thing I noticed right away is that the thickness is at least double on these guides, and these guides have plagued me for breaking/flying off/wearing out.

Good to hear you found John, and his great parts. He will always be up front and answer all your questions. I phoned him twice on my first order, and he answered his phone within two rings, and had me completely comfortable with the ordering process.

OK, I have to also chime in on this one. John ( tvnacman) literally just got off of the phone with me, and while I called him for some help with the wiring harness I just bought he ended up asking me a few questions. Then, all while staying super easy to understand, he dumped more knowledge about the bike than I could even imagine existed. He diagnosed my exact problem i had based off of a half cocked answer and not only did help with the harness as intended but has put me on the right track to have my scooter in better functioning order than i would have imagined possible. All this while still being one of the friendliest people I have had the privilege of speaking with about anything pertaining machinery. He will be getting my business and I will be seeking him for guidance in the future, as I would suggest for any complete NOOB as myself. Great Guy, Great Service! -Jarrett- PS, I say if you call him seeking knowledge have a pen and two sheets of paper ready. yes, two as there will be a lot of note taking on your end. lol

Sweet ! I too will be installing a Koso variator on my 2T in a couple of weeks as the stock one is small and myt Bando Kevlar belt is eating up . I also finally found a 788 ( 18.1) xx belt by Gates which is wider than my 788 17 30 Bando .
Get Dr Pulley sliders and see how much better they perform than rollers
