Got my 125cc out for the summer and rode it to work which is about a 25 mile ride with no problems. On the way home about a 1/4 of a mile it started bogging down and stalled and now it won't start back. Haven't ever had a problem with it before. Any ideas? Thanks guys. V

If your left it sitting for a few months, you could have fuel problems. Ethanol blends can develop gummy residue inside the fuel system. First clean your carb and check your fuel petcock and lines. Let us know if that helps, and if not we can move on to the next step in troubleshooting.

Yeah,, I agree on fuel issue,,could even be something in the tank like the float coming apart from the ethanol. I would drain all the fuel out, replace the filter, put some fresh fuel in and give it a go,,might find out the carb needs to be cleaned if this doesn't work or maybe that pesky fuel pump/petcock could be acting up,,id throw it in the trash and get a manual petcock or nice mikuni high velocity pump.

I will give this a try this week. The only thing that makes me think it might not be fuel is the fact that my got out the started it started on the first crank without any hesitation. My experience with other scooters that I have purchased and got running to resell is that when they have a fuel or carburetor issue they will not start at all from the get-go.

First thing is make sure the KILLWITCH is on the run position, it happens to the best of us, by mistake sometimes we hit it getting off or moving it around. Also it may have a killswitch on the side stand so if it does the side stand has to be up. To make sure fuel is getting to the carb take the fuel hose off the carb and put it in a container and crank it over if fuel flows then your good to the carb. Then to check if anything is clogged take the vacuum hose coming off the intake and or going to a "T" or "Y" and pour a teaspoon of gas down the vacuum hose straight into the intake and reconnect and try to start it, it should fire at least once trying to start. If it does then you know the PILOT JET and or its passage and or the tiny fuel outlets by the butterfly are clogged. If no fire then then check if the spark plug is firing either take a spare plug and take the boot cap off the one on the motor and put it in the boot cap and hold it on the VALVE COVER or motor not the frame and crank it and see if it is firing. Alright ladies and gentlemen as always thanks a million for your help. We are getting fuel but no spark. Kill switch is on the run position. Both kickstands are down and I have no spark. CDI?

If it has a KILLSWITCH on the SIDE STAND THAT SHOULD BE UP NOT DOWN. If it does have a killswitch on the sidestand putting it down you will have no spark.
Also how did you test for NO SPARK? How exactly did you test? Reason I ask questions is I DO NOT know your mechanical abilities no offense meant. Some folks do not know where the spark plug is on a motor. Alleyoop

The stand was up! Sorry I was typing on my cell phone while tuning up a 250 so things got confused! I used a spark tester and connected it to a valve cover bolt and then to the wire and saw no spark. I tested and had power at a small round thing that is connected directly to the wire (coilpack maybe?). I have decided whatever that thing is must be the problem. It has two wires coming into it and the spark plug wire coming out. I am an ASE certified automotive technician but these scooters are quite different!

Yeah thats the coil..you can unscrew the wire and test right from the stud that the wire screws to,,that video posted above is priceless,,check it out a few times,,you can take readings with a DVM to trouble shoot the complete system from kill switch through ignition,CDI,stator, pick up coil,,the whole nine yards bro
