2 stroke rode it this morning to work and had it parked for about 3 hours. On my way it was fine, cept the idling problem i been having for the past week. Won't stay idle when stopped unless given a little gas. Anyway when i started it up about 15 seconds later the oil light and the annoying sound came on. I just put in oil a few days ago, re-checked and its % full. Rode it like this all the way home about 30min. When I got home I topped it off and its still doing it. Should i ignore it? Try to disable the sound? If so, how would I go about doing it? Or do I need to take it to a shop? Think it would be safe to drive it to a shop to check out the problem? Its about an hour drive to the mechanic i took it to last time. 30min drive to a different one. Would cost $50 for pick up.

I used to hear an annoying sound every day when I got home from work. Then right after the divorce, it went away.

To get the oil light to shut off if it came on when the oil was low you have to reset it. It will not turn off just by filling the oil tank up. But to tell you how to turn off the oil light if it came on when it was low NEED the model and year of the scoot. Also a picture of the instrument panel.
Also the noise your talking about need a VIDEO with sound to help with that, it could be several things mostly in the CVT area, the weights the clutch the gears etc.. Since it is a 2 STROKE valves are out. Alleyoop

After the boards went down for a lil while, at least for me, I decided to mess around with the oil tank. I noticed that the sensor thing was very loose, and couldnt get it back on tight. When I pulled it out i noticed it had like a floater on it, im guessing all similar to a fuel sensor thing. Noticed it was positioned at the bottom, so i positioned it back to the top, then turn the key to the on position, and red light as well as sound was gone. Sorry the sound happens at the same time with the red light. Its like a electrical beep. It always happens if im running low on oil, its a loud and annoying sound. Did I solve the problem or did I just mask a problem? Also do you think it would be a good idea to try and seal up that sensor. I am also losing oil that way. If so any recommendations of what to use? Thanks for the help.

Good job, the oil leaking around the rubber plug and wires you can use ATV Silicone you can get black to match. Clean it off nice and clean of the oil and then use the Silicone and let it sit over night it will turn into rubber works great.
As far as the sound, so it is just the sensor telling you the oil is low well at least that is good many times the idiot lights go out and you would not know you were low on oil. Alleyoop

if you dont clean it, it might actually drop and the bobber not fall.

My tank busted so I premix and had the oil light buzzer wire drive me bonkers . I heard some have an ignition kill if the oil gets too low to prevent burning it up , so I had mine running when I cut it in case I would need to splice it back together .
Simply always top off the oil every time you get gas to know its good .
It is worth the extra to get a full synthetic or at least synthetic blend of 2T oil like Maxxima or Motul 710 . Just make sure it says oil injector approved as some is premix only .
