Nice..... I might try to get away with with getting one of those. That is if I can keep it on the down low and keep the lady from giving me a verbal bashing. Lol

I was looking at the impact that alley posted , I saw it on eBay and I was going to buy it but I didn't feel like waiting , also I just got done installing a propane furnace and a central air unit . The job was a big one due to that they only had baseboard heat and did not have any duct or registers , so I decided to spend a few bucks and get the craftsman at the local sears .

A toothed filter wrench only works on the variator. A strap wrench is required for the clutch. Any impact wrench will remove the nut if you're holding the unit with the right wrench. It's not a big nut, likely less than 40 ft-lbs.

I made an apparatus with 2 steel dowels that go into the holes in the clutch and lock it up and undo it with a strong bar and socket cost sweet F A

My 19.2 craftsman wouldn't take my variator or clutch nut off . Of course we want a good impact so we don't have to find a way to hold the variator or clutch .
