After upgrading from a 39mm to 50mm bore, can't get it to start. Got fuel, spark & at least some compression, but I'm thinking it's gotta be the rings. how should I line up the gaps on the compression rings & oil control rings? the wavy middle ring of the oil control ring was slightly too long (~1mm) so i just overlapped it and it seemed fine... any ideas?

Here's a really good video. You may not understand the language, but the video speaks for it self.

Using a triangle pattern on the rings, align the oil ring with back of the head align the 2 other rings 120* apart from that to avert blow-by.

you should gap the rings before installing rings you should put them inside the cylinder and measure your ring gaps any to small you need to file down if to big discard and get a new one has far has the wavy i cant remember wither or not if should over lap but i think yes its locks the ends together but here is a good link scroll down to the ring part 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/350/big-bore-kit-installation

This is how I align the ring gaps.
With the intake at 12 o-clock.
1st ring gap at 2 o-clock.
2nd ring gap at 10 o-clock.
Thin top oil ring gap at 5 o-clock.
middle wavy oil ring gap at 6 o-clock.
thin bottom oil ring gap at 7 o-clock.
