How long have you had the brakes ? Some don't know that after u tighten the brakes all the way you usually have a lot of brake pad left . What u do is loss em the brake nut all the way , take the nut off . Pull the line out of the arm , loosen the 5/16 bolt that holds the arm on, pull the arm off , reposition it back further on the groves and you should be good for another season or more . U may have to adjust it on the groves a couple times to get it where it needs to be . U usually only move the arm back 1 or 2 grooves from where it was . I've done mine twice already .

Now is this a drum brake or disc brake, but check the pads on the brakes if you see about 1/16 or so pad left you can get many more miles out of them by readjusting the cable. Alleyoop

I have over 12k miles on my scoot and still have the stock rear brake pads in . I'm gonna have to check mine soon . I checked them at the beginning of last season and had over 1/2 pad left on the brakes . I'm kinda worried about adjusting the arm a third time , not sure if I'll flip the brake paddle ?

What do u mean by loose ? You do know there is a nut on the brake line that tightens them right ? Or by loose do you mean u hear a rattle in the pads ? I'm assuming u have drum brakes on the rear ? If you did tighten the nut all the wAy u can still Readjust the brake arm like I mentioned above . If u hAve never done this chances are u have a lot of pad left on the brakes .

Changing the brakes is easy
Remove muffler and other things in the way of the tire.
Take off the tire.
Remove and replace brake shoes (They are held in place by springs on the shoe.)
Re assemble.
FIRST check the the brake adjuster by the tire on the right side of the bike. Righy tighty, lefty loosy

I agree with everything you just said but on my Taotao 150cc the break adjuster is on the left side of the bike. After you remove the exhaust there is a plate with 2 bolts on to the engine and the right coil over is bolted to it as well you have to remove the coil over(shock absorb er W/ Spring), the to bolts on the engine and the 21 mm or 19mm bolt that holds the tire so you can remove the plate, you might have to tap on the plate to remove it, and tap on the tire to remove the tire make sure you loosen the rear break adjuster almost all the way so it doesn't hold the tire from coming out, Good Luck!!!

The brake adj should be on the left for drum brakes
