It all depends on how strong your motor is, has to have good low end power and torque to be able to pull the taller gearing. I have 30 more ccs on my motor 182 from 149.6cc and it pulls the 16/37 gears real good so I am going little taller. Alleyoop

My 17 36 gears work great gained top end and no loss of acceleration but me and ally have strokers not sure yours will pull the taller gears on a stock crank.

Yes take the 2K contra spring out and put in the OEM one that will lower your rpms by allowing the engine to open the clutch pulley much easier with less rpms. Alleyoop I lost my license for a dwi. I am still riding a scooter because I have to have transportation to and from work, and everything else. Is that your question why I'm still riding? Or why I'm riding a 150 with no license? I ride a 150 with no license because I wanted a 150 with power, and would not rather get blowed off the road by cars, and mean people. The Judge was wrong when my Attorney proved that it was an Unvalid License check, I was wrongfully arrested and detained, the Cheif of Police lied under oath, and admitted he was not the supervising officer over the license check. So, The Chief gets away with Lying, Kasey Anthony got out of killing her kid, John Edwards lied got out of his crap, etc. So Im gonna ride whatever I want to stick it back to them! Lol! My town is small, the local cops dont care what you ride, as long as you dont act stupid. The cops are friendly with me, and pretty much know my Scooter isnt a 50. I dont have a tag, insurance, License, etc. Besides, mine looks like a ViP 50 anyways. I guess you could call it a sleeper. It will keep up and pass traffic on my local highway which speed limit is 55. I've been riding this scooter for 2 years now. So, you were driving while drunk, got stopped and arrested and the cops lied. Does that change the fact that you were driving while drunk?? Or that you got caught and the cops lied? Main thing is, if you're driving drunk, and hit me, or my kids, and got no lic,, no ins, I'm fvked. Look at my avatar, and see what happens when a person gets hit by a drunk driver while on a motorcycle. I gotta live the rest of my life with no leg, and the drunk driver has served his 'SUSPENDED' sentence, and got him a new truck, and his life is back to normal, mine will never be. So, no , i feel no sympathy for drunk drivers, who still drive, sometimes drunk. I don't care where you gotta go, find some other way, which is why you don't have a DL. Carry on Dave

Carry on Dave I wasnt drinking and driving on a scooter, it was a car. Which I agree was wrong. Im still on a scooter because of that situation in the past. I wasnt drunk either. It was just on my breath. When they took me to the jail to blow in the machine, the machine wouldnt work right for some reason, and it printed out 2 slips 0.00 both times, but they gave me a refusal. If I were going to refuse, I would not have blown to start with. Anyways, I'm sorry for your situation, and hope you are doing well, God bless you!

I got pulled over back in 1999 I was 20 yrs old at the time . I was drinking earlier and was driving home in a new car that I just bought that day . The cops said I was using my brakes a lot so they pulled me over . I did a sobriety test and did it flawlessly , of course they said I failed , so I had to take the breath test and I just failed it. I denied I was drinking they threatened to take me to get a blood test done or I can admit I was drinking and just get an underage drinking . So I denied it again and god sent me a little gift , the cops got a call over their radio saying that there was a disturbance somwhere and shots may have been fired . Now this was in a small town In Greene county pa where there is usually rarely any violent crime . The cops who where state police got very pissed and said I better get in my car and get home. I was about a mile from home so I didn't hesitate. Lol

I'm curious did u take the 2000 main spring out ? Because at 6500 to 7000 rpms the 2000 main spring should still alow the clutch pulley to open fully thus your 56 cruising speed will be the same with the stock main spring. Just because your clutch pulley opens sooner doesn't mean u will hit 56 at a lower rpm . I use a 2000 main and the only difference it made was on takeoff and in the mid range. I'm running about he same at 6500 rpms about 55 mph and around 65 between 7 and 7500 rpms. The only way it may make a difference is if for some reason the pulley isn't opened fully at those rpms with the 2000 main. Now if the 2000 main is brand new then it will loosen up after a little while but if u have had it in for a while now it should open fully at those rpms. I love the feeling of the 2000 main as I hit a hill it actually feels like a downshift and the power up hills is great. The only bad thing is it will wear your belt down quicker . I only use the Kevlar gates and I go thru two every summer. I tried a cheap Kevlar that was given to me last yr and it just about disintegrated in 300 miles I only found about 10 small pieces in the variator cover.

I took the 2000 main spring out, and put in my spare 1500, I didnt notice any difference in take off, I guess the 2000 spring was in there so long and ridden so much it compressed or broke in or something. My speedometer quit working about 1/1-2 months ago when it was really cold, so I guess I'm not really sure what my speeds are. I'm gonna order a new cable from scrappys today, and maybe slider weights or that spring contraption that keeps the main spring from binding.....

I just replaced my 2000 main , it seems after a bout 2.5 or 3 yrs it weakens to about the same strength as a 1500 so that sounds right. Even if u go with a stock main spring the only thing you should notice is a slower climb to your top speed . I just replaced my clutch springs and went with 2000 rpm springs also . I usually use 1500 rpm clutch springs so I'm kinda curious how they will perform. They should just give me a stronger takeoff. Your best bet for lowering the rpms and keeping the same cruising speeds is the final drive gear change. Have fun ridin , I luv this time of yr .
