to that gasket is all you need . You can order them at nycscooterparts.com
you can reuse that gasket if you need to reposition the engine pipe or muffler while you getting it together , they are more forgiving .

The way to reconnect everything is TAKE THE MUFFLER off and FIRST connect the pipe to the motor with the gasket Then put the muffler on and bolt that down. Many bolt the muffler on to hold the pipe up BUT that put stress on the PIPE and you will not get a good seal at the Flange where it bolts to the motor. Alleyoop

Just nice and snug do not crank on them otherwise the stud will snap they are made to snap off if to much stress is put on them. Also bring up the flange evenly screw on each nut then give them a nice snuging. Alleyoop

i usally have someone flaot the tail for me while i put it on. how tight should i turn the bolts because i don't want to break them. i use my foot to hold it in place. a drop of blue thread locker will keep them from vibrating free and then as Alley said just snug. it doesn't take much to break them. i rode my scoot for nearly a week with only one stud because i torqued a bit too much. their is a fine line between over tightening and vibrating free so the thread locker is a must imo. edit: although that was on a 50cc with 6mm studs. i think the 150's have 8mm studs so probably less likely to break. i'd still keep it under 10/lbs of torque.

could i tape the flange up to make sure it's a leak? if i seal it with tape it should stop it from popping right? and if it keeps popping then it's not the pipe. i don't mean as a fix. just a test.

You just proved it to yourself that it is leaking, so fix it right, it is not going to go away. All I can tell someone what the problem is and how to fix it, I cannot force anyone to fix it. But I can tell you this, if you don't fix it and leave it backfiring it will cost you more and lot more work later on. Alleyoop

well it's not random popping or sputtering sounds like i said it's just pupupupupupupupupupupupupupu. it's consent when not accl. i don't know if that is still "a popping sound." actually i found this. this is my model scooter and the same pipe and you can hear the pupupupupu i mean. Is your PAIR emissions system still intact? If so, that's probably the causes of the "pupupu". The PAIR system consists of an air canister tank in the front (under your foot board) that sucks in air into the exhaust to "clean" the gases. It may make those "putts" each time you ease the throttle and will either be a quiet "putt" or a gunshot "putt". Regardless, that is normal and will do no damage, but can be annoying. Removing the PAIR system will solve the problem, but I suggest checking your state laws about emission controls before removing it.
