Could be, but that's a big differance between the 2

Pretty significant difference in the 49cc and the 63cc scooters, I have seen many 44mm pistons in 2011 Tao Tao scooters. You'd have to upgrade the motor to get yours as fast or faster than hers.

I dont want to go faster, I just want to be able to get moving form a dead stop. If im at a light with a slight incline, it takes the scoot a good 5 secs to even get moving.

Sounds like you need a new clutch

i still struggle to tune my sccot so i may be wrong but it sounds like it is running rich. can one of the pros confirm plz. (the second run at the 25 second mark (for those too lazy to watch a whole vid )) if a smaller piston is the problem as millsc has suggested then it's an inexpensive and easy upgrade. (if mechanically inclined) just time consuming especially if it is your first time doing a bbk. took me about 3 hours to do mine but i did take a few mini-breaks so you could probably install it faster.

I just watched the vid the 2011 is most likely a 63cc the 2013 acts like a normal 49cc if you want better acceleration put a bigger piston in it. The kits improve acceleration and may or may not improve top speed as why the 63cc takes off much faster.

WOW!! that thing is a dog, the power is not there even after it got moving you can hear there is no power. Has nothing to do with the clutch you can hear the motor it is down on power a lot.
Reason I asked if turning the fuel ratio mixture closed if it stayed running is because it appears it is getting to much fuel. And if the Fuel ratio screw is closed and it keeps on running then it is getting to much fuel. The motors will usually start to die from 1 turn out. So Either your PILOT jet is to big or it is sucking in extra gas from some other place. Check your Vacuum hoses, I don't know if you have an EVAP system on it but especially check the Vacuum hose going to your petcock and see if it is wet from gas. Also check that the ENRICHER is shutting off the extra fuel.
I would also check the compression on the motor. Alleyoop

When in doubt pull the motor out lol

One other thing you can try to see if more air will help it take the air filter off the air box and see if it runs stronger. Alleyoop

I know the enricher is extending, I had a spare and put it in just to plug the hole and plug in the other. Im gonna saw its running to rich. When I try to start it from a cold start I have touse the ttrottle to keep it running till it warms up a bit. Idle does not rise up like my daughters from a cold start. Idle jet is a 30, what should I go down to? I changed out the main jet to an 80, as the plug chop should white on the plug. Yes this thing is a dog.

I will take a look at the petcock hose. I also tried removing the plastic piece in the air box and the peice on the end of the filter as well to no avail.

Have you checked the vacuum lines for being wet from fuel. Also just for a quick test take the foam filter or whatever filter is on there off and see how it runs. A #30 should be fine for that scoot. Alleyoop

Well a #80 Main jet for a stock 49 is to big I would put the jet that it came with back in. Rule of thumb is if you put on a free flow filter you put in a main jet 2 sizes bigger if then you also add a free flow exhaust you add another 2 sizes to it. So all together for both only go MAX 4 sizes up on the main jet. A lot of folks think dump a lot of fuel in to get more power and speed but the opposite is what happens.
If my memory severs me right the main jet on a 18mm carb is like a 72 some I have seen have a main jet in the high 60s.
Easy way to test your motors rpms is put it on the center stand and GIVE the throttle a full twist and let go. The RPMS should CLIMB FAST and drop down pretty quick to idle again. If twisting the throttle the rpms climb slow then something is not right. Either low on compression or running to rich. You should be able to give the throttle some quick little twists and the rpms should pop right up and down. Alleyoop

I checked the petcock hose looks dry, I pulled it off the the petcock and felt the end of the petcock, it was dry. The scoot came with a 75 main jet. And a 32 pilot.
