Can the electronic choke go bad? I have noticed in the last few months, my scoot is getting really hard to start. After it has been parked in the building over night, the next day it takes me like 3-5 times to get it started, then I smell gas. My scoot has always started easy the 1st time ever since I bought it new, even started the 1st time in the cold winter months. It now has 8700 miles, all of my mods are in sig below. I'm thinking I might get another kind of carb. Any suggestions? Thanks to everyone!

First thing to do before doing anything is Adjust your valves. Adjust them both to .004 inchs and that should help to start easier and faster. Most likely the Exhaust valve is tight and is not sealing and your losing compression. Alleyoop

I doubt its the choke. As a matter of fact these scooters start and run just fine with them removed. They tend to allow too much fuel when fully depressed if anything. Will it start right up if you crank and crack the throttle?

In Hot Area places you are much better off installing a manual ENRICHER. In hot areas you do not need EXTRA fuel you actually need less fuel. Alleyoop

x2 when its hot outside you need less gas when the weather changes to like under35 to 40* you need more gas.

So, my brother did the valve adjustment to .oo4 on both, figured out the problem, my sparkplug is cross threaded in the head! Now what the crap am I to do now? Besides buy a new performance head?

They make thread kits to fix that, but it might be better to get a new head.

Sorry about the multi entries this V5 piece of POOP software needs some good programmers on it. It is slow and still full of ROACHS. You click on Post Quick Reply AND IT IS NOT QUICK and you think it did not take and click and click and click.....AGAIN(HAHA). Alleyoop
