Only a few possibilities, the Tree is bent , the Body panels moved forward or the Front frame part that holds the tree is bent, but to get into that shape the scoot was in a OUCHY and that is why the guy sold it. Alleyoop  |

Oh that doesn't look good at all. I wouldn't be riding it at all until that has been checked and double checked.

howdy, do you notice the front end flexing when you sit down on the seat? try holding the front brake and trying to move the scooter forward or back and see if you get any movement of the tire in relationship to the body. it does look as if there is a problem at the top of the shock tubes

The front wheel is tight in the axle & no play is evident |

It isn't gonna take much of a bend at the top to manifest itself in a big change at the bottom. I bet the tree is bent. It doesn't look good in the head bearing area.
Can you take a picture of it from the side?

Pull the scooter up to a wall. Get a buddy to give it a little gas, not full throttle. You watch the areas that they highlighted in the pics and see if the if anything moves. Watch the cracks and also look at the back if the tire to see if it pushes into the cowl where the hole has been rubbed in it. If it flexes at all it's unsafe. It appears from the pics like the forks were pushed back at one point pretty hard and caused front end damage. If you have any movement at all I would also check the neck to make sure it doesn't have any damage. If the neck is good you can just replace the other parts and you'll be fine.

That does not look like a Lance Vintage tree. The Vintage had a solid tree with no struts using two forward facing arms so the front tire was about 4 inches further forward. Separate shocks and springs provided suspension to the cantilevered arms.
That does not even look like the correct front fender for the Vintage.

I think he said it was a hunter, not a Vintage. Also, not all the Vintages had leading link front ends. Only the 10" wheeled ones. They had a 12" model that had regular strut type front suspension.

Lance called their Znen Hunter Style Scoot the Vintage and was the same as the Fly Bello. Thought they dumped Znen before the 12" models became available. |

I only called it a 'Hunter' because thats what scrappys call the bodystyle for seat replacement. I think the model is a GS-R ??

I've been working to rejuvenate a Lance 150cc (Hunter Frame) scooter for a few weeks. I bought it after I got sooo bored watching my wife play Candy Crush! Its been a great excuse to be in the garage, and I've learned so much. With the garage doors open at night my neighbors have been over to see what I'm doing. Its the first time we have spoke in 7 years of living here - I digress.
