Looking at bulb upgrade ideas for my Tank 250. Best I can figure I have the standard terrible 35w bulb all Chinese scoots have. I'm used to riding my Piaggio with an actual headlight bulb and this Tank has terrible headlights. Has anyone tried to upgrade these to a different bulb or hid bulbs? Is that possible? Thanks in advance! V

You can buy yourself a little more light with 45w bulbs without killing the battery. I have the same scoot (Vog 260) and switched to Eiko 6245B bulbs which do help to a degree.
You can really improve with HIDs and there are lots of threads about them on this and other sites. I recently installed two 10w Cree flood lights to supplement the 45w eikos and that is what really did the trick for me.

You will get spoiled on a bike with an automotive quality lamp housing. You can upgrade the headlamp bulb but consider using LED bulbs elsewhere in the system to lighten the load on the electrical system.

If you have 35w/35w you may use 40w/45w ( lo and hi ) . I would think a 250 it would be brighter since 250s have more poles . Replacing running and dash lights with LEDs will help some . I even put in a LED for the tail on my 2T and it helped some even though its 5w but 25w for the brake light when applied . Is yours powered by the stator or battery ?

I'm not sure if it is stator or battery I really don't know much about these. Do you mind providing the bulb styles you used for the LED tail light and dash lights?

If you turn the key on and the lights come on or you have a switch and can turn them on then they are being fed by the Battery. If the only will come on when the motor starts then they are fed by the Stator. Alleyoop

I installed 35 W....H4....9003....5000K....Bi-Xenon....Hi/Lo HID's with relay on my scoot 3 yrs ago and love them. Not a hard install and they work great. I also installed LED's stop and turn on the rear. It holds 13.0 volts with everything on and running down the hiway. Enjoy your ride...
