You won't have ANY success with fixing the muffler mount for any period of time.
There are extreme vibrations. You cannot weld successfully to the engine casing as it is basically pot metal.
You cannot hang from the frame as the motor itself is a swingarm and moves.
You can gerry-rig something that *will* work for a bit but it will eventually fail.
You need a new engine case. Sorry.

You can get away with the modified mounts that were shown, many have done it. Those mounts move with the motor so the entire exhaust and muffler move as one. Now if you bolt the muffler to the frame and not the swingarm then yes it will rip right off. Alleyoop

I ran several 50s without either bolts to the casing ran good strong brackets and two clamps

I ran several 50s without either bolts to the casing ran good strong brackets and two clamps So you mounted it to just the swing arm frame is that what your saying. You have to give more detail information so others maybe can use that method. I am sure you meant you just used the swing arm frame and not the motor casing. Alleyoop

Well, another dilemma has reared its ugly head. The header in the exhaust kit I ordered is nowhere near the shape I need it to be at the tail end. I've made some tweaks to it with heating, but the pipe nearly sticks straight out the back instead of up at an angle. Anyone know where I can get a header that'll match closer than the one I have currently?

It's a Z-Bike 125cc. I'll get a pic of the old pipe when I get home.

Cool, that will help in trying to find one that fits better. I will google for a Z_BIKE exhaust in the meantime maybe we will get lucky. Alleyoop

Ok everybody! I think I've finally gotten this taken care of. So, I ended up hacking my old header pipe and the new header pipe and had them welded together. That way I had the shape of the old one to fit around the frame and such and the end of the new one so the muffler would bolt up. Used some cheap aluminum angle stock and rigged up some triangulation to secure the pipe and muffler. I think it looks pretty good, seems to hold pretty tight. Made a short trial run and it sounds much better than with the straight pipe. LOL!

Now make sure you don't drop it and that you keep up with the drive faces along with the belt to minimize vibrations that tend to shake mufflers apart.
With a single shock setup that has no right side swingarm the engine case does take a beating if in a right side drop.

Thanks! I'll be sure to check out the other stuff. The scoot had been dropped twice previous to me owning it (once on either side) and is the main reason the stock exhaust broke off.
