I went for a long ride yesterday and when i got back i noticed the s tube expansion part on my two stroke type pipe had fallen off, guess it had a bad weld i didn't hear it fall off since i was on the highway and had the radio on. Gonna try to get scooterdepot to send me a replacement, which i doubt they will, if not i'll get a p&p hi pro pipe.

If all else fails, I would try to fabricate one. Maybe some 3/4" stainless tubing, even mild steel tubing. At any rate, I'd be kinda p----d off.Did the can fall off with it?

Wow it just fell apart ? How could you not hear it ? Surely it is louder afterwards . You have a 2T pipe on a 4T scooter ? If so how did it perform ?

Whether he could hear it depends on how much giddyup his radio has... LOL! Sorry, just couldn't resist...2-stroke-style expansion-chamber pipes usually run GREAT on 4-strokes. I've used them since the 1960's, back in my 2-stroke karting days! They can scavenge a 4-stroke better than a straight-pipe, and still remain quiet. They can't give the supercharging effect like on a 2-cycle, but they still are great on 4-strokes, so long as the carb is tuned for the pipe. The one I put on my GY6 150 made a noticeable improvement, moving the engine's "sweet-spot" from 7K to over 8K rpm. screen grabThis particular exhaust was originally for a 50cc 4-stroke. I made a 1" header to fit the 150... It runs GREAT! I just traded this scooter on a used Kymco 250, but I really enjoyed the little GY6 for many years. I personally believe the "chamber" exhausts are one of THE best setups for a 4-stroke you can upgrade to. It's the expansion part that helps "pull" or "scavenge" the exhaust. GREAT on a 2-stroke, and VERY GOOD on a 4-stroke... Leo in Texas

Scooterdepot is sending me a new pipe wasn't even a hassle maybe they aren't as bad as the reviews on the net say.. I don't really need it since I ordered a p&p pipe but why not get the replacement

Just review the bike for CVT vibrations which are a major cause of muffler failure. A bad/defective belt can take out the muffler easily along with the variator, clutch and gearcase bearings also the rear body attachment points.
