Hey all got a problem thats bugging me and looking for a little help. Went for a ride last week just cruising the area. After getting out of the city and opening her up a bit I heard a loud pop that I thought was just a rock bouncing off the bottom of the bike. Bike continued to ride fine so I carried on enjoying the fall weather here in NY. Stopped for gas and after I hit the kill switch and the motor died it was totally quiet. Usually I hear the radiator fan running til I turn the key off. Fueled up and went to hit the start button and nothing happens. No starter, no lights, no gauges. Got a jump start and got her home but was too dark to do any trouble shooting. Rained all week end so finally got a break today to check things out. Checked battery 12.6 v so good, fuse at battery good ( put a meter to it ) good, pulled starter relay and put power to it with meter across terms and it popped and had continuity so good. Replaced R/R about 2 months ago because of charge issue so skipped that for now. When I pulled the wires from the starter relay I also put a meter across the plug and hit the starter button and showed good. So after all this I'm thinking key switch may be bad so tomorrow tearing front apart to get to it for probing. Anything else you guys think I should take a look at? Bike is a 2007 Lance Duke 250 with about 3200 miles. Thanks for any and all help.

Did you get it fixed? Sorry to see that in 40 views you've had no replies. If you still need help I'll ask my questions. I hope that won't be needed and you are scootin' pretty by now.

It sounds like you have a ground issue.....check the ground on the battery.....my scoot the instrument lights come on when I turn the key..I never use the kill switch to stop the engine...I use the key...just my 2c worth....I have HID's installed and they are hot when I turn the key.  |

Sounds like a bad connection. I would check the battery and ground connections.

It should have another fuse box on it somewhere, possibly under the seat. There should be four fuses in there. Check them and make sure they are seated all of the way in there connectors. Sometimes they work loose.

Sorry been busy with things but found the problem. It was a short in one of the plugs off harness. Had a mech friend come and trouble shoot it for me. For some reason the plug melted and shorted the wires inside. Funny thing is that this also fried the battery. Plug and battery replaced and all is good. As far as a second fuse box goes, I haven't been able to find one anywhere and I've had all the plastics off all the way from handle bars to tail lights.

I have an elec. mess and if this works out OK I will never do it again.
2008 Roketa 250cc M54-B...bad headlights...want to change.
Bought....Zenex Slim HID Conversion Kit H13 (9008) 6000K Hi/Lo Duel Xenon (Diamond White)
Took off the front plastic(what a mess)took out the old bulbs and the new ones fit real nice.
No problem placeing the ballasts and the relay and wire back to the battery
Now for the mess
Where do I connect the stupid harness?
To one of the existing headlight wires or the left handel bar light switch(which is broke and I will order a new one).
and that adds another item to the mess.
I am dead in the water here.Just tell me where to hook the stupid thing up and I will never do this again.

Well if what you put on all they do is turn on the headlights you can just get an OFF and ON toggle switch and put it on the dash below the instrument panel. Or you can connect it to the existing switch that would normally turn on the lights.

OK...I get an off/on switch. Switch is set at off...start engine...turn switch on...lights come on...how do I now change from whatever (lets say lo beam) to hi beam??

Well in order for the HIGHBEANS to work it has allow voltage to flow otherwise the high beams are not going to work separate from the headlights.
So the high beams should work with the Off and On switch when on ON. There is NOT a separate bulb for the high beams they work off the same bulb that the headlights work off.

OK...I know that..
There is NOT a separate bulb for the high beams they work off the same bulb that the headlights work off.
OK...I know that..
My question is how to turn on the LOW beam if, as you say the ON gives me the HIGH beam??

I did not say the OFF and ON gives you the HIGH BEAM, I said the OFF and ON turns on your HEADLIGHTS there is a switch on the left that you press to turn on the high beams. If you currently have high beams with the OFF and ON then you got the OFF and ON switch connected to the wrong wire.

First you should have started another thread instead of hijacking this one
Second Alleyoop from what I've read and from experience I've had on this board knows what he's talking about.
So don't blow ppl off that are trying to help you.
Anyways you should have 2 switches for your lights. 1 to turn on and another for high/low beam like Alleyoop said. Not that hard to figure which is for what as they should have little pictures on them.
