Microsoft has a mole in it, I am talking about a industrial espionage mole. One that is bent on destroying the company.
There can be no other explanation. Why else would they have spent multimillion dollars on developing such a poor operating system such as Windows 8???
I bought a laptop with it on it and I really think the Vista that drove me to Linux for a couple years is a much better operating system and it stunk to high heaven.
What is wrong with those guys.

I agree, I just bought a laptop win windows 8 and I don't know why the would add it to a pc or laptop when it is clearly designed for a tablet.

Well 8 is a tablet system so I have no idea why they put it on their desktops and laptops. On tablets it may be one of the best attempts ever to de-throne the IOS platform. It's designed for a touch screen though and primarily for tablet sized screens which is why the pages scroll at a certain rate when you try to scroll down they scroll by blocks. I have 8 booting on my MacBook so I can play with it and I've been very impressed with it as a tablet OS. It's horrible for a laptop or desktop OS. I have always dual booted my Macs since Windows XP so I have stayed fluent in both OS's, but I'm a Mac and I still give 8 it's props for a MOBILE OS, but not anything else. I have three iPads, two iMacs, two Macbooks, and an iPhone and it's all I personally use. I can't stand Windows, myself. Here's my MB booting Win 8 Pro Ultimate.

Agreed. Though I really don't like vista. 7 is good. With Microsoft, it's an every other operating system kind if deal.

I dual boot my Macbook Pro as well, and I loaded up Win8 just to get a feel for it. I figured I should learn it since all of the new computers that I purchase for the business will be outfitted with Win8, and I double up as our IT guy.
Actually, I don't hate it. It takes some getting accustomed to though coming from 7, granted, but I don't think it is as terrible as people are making it out to be. It's just different, and I'll give them credit for trying to advance along a PC OS. It may not be a complete success, but at least they gave it a shot, which is more than can be said for others.
Just my opinion.
I have given some serious thought to converting the entire office over to Mac, but shooo... we have a lot of computers.

I'll tell you from experience 7 is a lot easier and better at this point. I use 8 and have now since Jan. of this year. Yesterday I spent over 8 hours on a total re-boot of the system on my computer. Good thing is I back up my files on two external hard drives so that made it a lot easier. When one buys a new computer with the system on it they do not send you a program recovery disc. The good thing about yesterday is the Microsoft tech did as a courtesy download one for me and got a new product key, now I have one that I could even use to put 8 on another computer. The main thing wrong with the 8 system is they haven't got the bugs out of it and even the tech said they were working on them daily and they are snowed under resolving these issues. I use the installed defender fro my antivirus and it works well but here's a problem they are having world wide with this program and it's update errors. These two errors can cause major issues and they hit mine, 0x800106B and 0x80070490. These keep windows from updating, you can go to the troubleshooter and fix them but they return in just minutes of use. If Defender can't update it will quick scanning and shut down. This happened to me and since I do lots of work on the net the shut down that I didn't even know allowed two serious Trojans and one malware in, needless to say I had a mess. After 0ver 8 hours of work all is well and I'm expecting a call back this evening from Microsoft on fixing another error code and in the mean time I manually search for updates about every 6 hours. I'm about to get all my backed up stuff back where I want it and programs that don't work, I uninstall and re-stall them, just got done with re-installing my filezilla that Doug and I both use to upload files for this forum. I've also installed some of the better programs for 7 to this computer and override the ones on 8 I don't like ex. Adobe, the one on 8 is junk, they removed the plugins on the 8 version, I hate it. It takes getting used to but I'd rather set my head on fire and beat it out with a sledge hammer instead of using Vista, I actually threw a working computer with Vista on it in the dumpster because of it. I agree with the assessment on one good program, one bad one, maybe by the time I get used to 8 a good 9 will be here! JR

Kinda funny. One of our local pc builders is offering $50 downgrades to Win7 with each new build or service. I play with 8 and I must say it is a good mobile OS but my nokia running win8 just requires too many taps to get to what I need. I don't have that problem with my droid.

I have an IPad and it sits in the box. My old laptop had vista and really it is head and shoulders above 8 inevery way. Vista frustrated me enough to get a linux notebook and Linux is great and wonderful with a few little exceptions, just minor things.
My new laptop may get a downgrade to 7 one of these days. The only problem I know of 7 is that the wife can not install her photoshop on hers.

I knew this the day win8 was still in the development phase. It is THE reason you saw laptops with win 8 being sold for as low as $399 recently! People don't want to learn yet another operating system. And many 'improvements' where good for the average user who just needs to open a program or read an email,, but is really bad for anyone wanting to do normal work on! Very limiting!
I've always said that the company went down with Bill gate's retirement. The people now in charge are all bit junkies! Just care about exploiting as many bits as possible, graphic design, and soon 3d imagery that will respond to words. But a good operating system is easy to use, AND small in footprint; they seemingly forgot this!

Agreed. Though I really don't like vista. 7 is good. With Microsoft, it's an every other operating system kind if deal. Bingo! I had good success with the breakout Windows , 98 was flakey until they came out with "Second Edition" which fixed the bugs, Windows ME was HORRIBLE, XP is IMHO the best operating system of all time, Vista is maybe even worse than ME (got a bluescreen on a brand new machine within 3 weeks), Windows 7 takes all the attempted great features of Vista w/ XP's reliability... now Win8 may just be the end of the line. I guess they try to get creative and innovative and come up with some haggard junk then realize that and go back to what works lol!

I'm not unhappy with how W8 works just don't like all the bugs in the system right now. There are some things that I like about 8 even better than 7 but I still prefer 7. Cool thing is I have two W7 download discs and if I get tired of the bugs I'll change it to 7. About the only thing that I didn't like about 7 in the early days was the IE crashes, be right in the middle of something and the old IE isn't responding junk! D8
