I noticed opposite the oil drain plug on the other side of the engine there is onother plus that faces outward,what is that for? Sorry I'm unable to post a pic.

There are two. under your scooter where the drain plug is your filter. then under the CVT there is a nut there that is your main drain hole for oil.

Does it ever make much difference if you only use one? I just pull the filter one out and drain through there, then flush through with clean oil before filling up. They look fairly level, I wouldn't be leaving much old oil behind would I, if any?

I think it's easier to use the one on the other side when I have the bike on the side stand. All oils drains out easily and there's no "getting hands full of oil" or any other mess...

We only use the oil filter cap hole when we do oil changes. Gotta clean the filter anyway. We give the bike a little lean to make sure it all gets out.
