You can also use the multimeter to check how much voltage you have at the startmotor when you try to start it. That way you see how much the voltage has dropped from the battery, if it's to low it would give you the symptoms you have.

checked my voltages the are all good, my compression is just too high, i have a ported head with bigger combustion chamber i can put on to lower compression.

Hi Millsc, Just out of curiosity, what is the PSI? I find that on the ones that I did, Including the airsal, That if I do not touch the throttle when starting, it does fine. The second I twist it just a little, It strains. I guess from letting more air in.I had 230PSI on that hoca, and it would'nt run smooth. Let us know your solution

update i put in a 230 cca battery and it cranks over like a champ

And it's made in China aswell millsc, so it should work. Look's like you had a dead cell in the old battery-- had that happen to me untell i had it bench tested. It was a 4ampHr batt, so i upgraded to ES9BS from wally world. I still want to know if the CDI John has will do any good for a STOCK 50.
