I ride in all weather. It's hard to enjoy riding in a heavy rain, but I figure I'm giving her a free pressure wash. A rain suit over your armor, a good pair waterproof gloves along with a full face helmet and rain is no big deal as long as you have decent tires. The Pirellis I run give me no issues in the rain. If you don't ride here when there is a chance of rain then you won't be riding most of the year.

Riding season is finally HERE dirty south! Been around 70*F here the last few days. Saw what felt like more bikes and scoots out today than cars (maybe 1/25, but coming from 1/1000 in winter...). EVERYBODY and their grandma went out for their first ride of the season this weekend. I'm still fine tuning my scooter for the season but I'll be riding daily now. Rain is so unpredictable here you just have to live with getting caught in a storm.

I'll ride if it isn't too cold (ice)or windy. Heavy rain just plain sucks with drivers that barely know how to drive on dry pavement, so I avoid the heavy rain with low visibility conditions.

Got the medium high output bulb which throws 25% more light but still gives respectable life. Original lasted 14,000 miles so if I get 25% more light and 7,000 miles from this bulb I will be happy. Had a nice steady Tropical downpour with 20 mph winds so the bike is clean as a whistle now. Only got a little damp around the collar from where the wind blew the rain up under the rim of my helmet. Altogether not bad for a 45 minute ride at 50 mph in a Tropical rain. On my old Lance it would have been a horror however the Aprilia with its aerodynamic design and the Puig fairing was no problem at all.

I find my full beams are great, but my lows only cast out about ten foot in front of me. So when I dip my lights for oncoming traffic, I'm practically blind. I'll have a word with my mechanic tomorrow about replacement lights when I nip in for a little job. Thanks for the heads up mate. My commute is 45 mile each way, just over an hour up to 60 (75 on one downhill stretch if the winds in the right direction! Lol). My feet were dry in steel toe cap work boots, but still cold. Luckily I'm on nights for two days now, so riding in some daylight for a change! Ian

Luckily I'm on nights for two days now, so riding in some daylight for a change! Ian The Aprilia Sport City has great lighting system using 2 separate 55 watt H7 bulbs for the low and high beams. What gets some folks is that many bikes even though they are set up to run the low beams all the time they also have a daytime running light bulb in the lamp house that stays on all the time too. It is usually 5 or 10 watts and barely will cast 5 or 10 feet out in the dark. When you check well the head lamp appears to be lit on low beam even though the low beam lamp is burned out.

Lihtner Museum, Heritage for a Cuban breakfast and plenty of other bakeries with much better than just donuts.
