You had to cleanup, check them for viability and store them in order to have the used parts available so they were not really free to you.
If the engine was run out of oil so that it lost compression then the main bearings and seals along with the crank pin, con rod, piston pin, piston, rings, oil pump, oil pump chain, sprage clutch, rocker arms, cam shaft, cam bearings, timing chain, timing chain guides, valve stems, valve guides, etc could all be on borrowed time or completely shot. Anything you do even if it initially sounds ok will be a roll of the dice unless a complete tear down and inspection is done first. If there is any metal in the oil screen you will have your first sign that the engine took a real beating to the hard parts.
To big bore it without addressing the viability of the rest of the engine could be a recipie for disaster.

No metal in the oil and but it sure isn't starting after i replaced the stuff, it does sound normal when it turns over though, but no start as of today. I'm going to take my parts back off once the kit comes in i just wanted to get it started before i do the bbk.

I agree with rockynv. These little engines take a beating with no oil in them. There could be unseen damage. It may turn over smooth now, but if the balls or races in the bearing has gotten scored they will not last long.

It turns over but doesn't start gonna try a different camshaft this evening really want to get it going for the lady, what's scary is she took it to the shop in town and they told her it needs a new motor and was going to charge her 700 dollars in parts and labor

Put a different camshaft on it and it fired right up, runs fine, the lady was so glad it runs she said keep the kit i'll take it as is. So its done and gone not a bad haul 120 bucks and a 80cc kit, better than 700 bucks the shop in town was charging. She sped off smiling

Awesome! Everybody wins. I like that you had offered up the used top end free though. There are definitely times in the automotive business where it is advantageous to "eat it" for a customer... unfortunately (for her) that scooter will probably not hold up in the long haul and now you're in a position where she will likely bring business back to you (hopefully with no resentment towards you lol).

It probably was best not to put a big bore kit on a scoot that has been compromised, glad she decided to keep it stock.

If it was my scoot I would've done the same thing millsc. Really, it's up and running---get another year out of it and I'd be happy. I ride hard though.
