I bought a pair of Michelin City grip tires. I love em There is no comparison to the factory chinese ones. Best policy is to NEVER skimp on tires and brakes. They are the MOST important part!

Hi Guys I run Pirelli SL 26 Performance Front/Rear 120/90j/10 They are taller and wider than stock, and I noticed lately while gps ing my speeds that my speedo is dead on with this tire.. They are smooth running tires, grips well in wet and dry conditions.. Love em, I agree with sailracer, your tires are the very heart of your scoot and driving. Getting rid of the cheap Chinese tires is probably the best investment in your safety you can make next to your helmet.
Especially if your upgrading your power.....

I run S1's on the Vespa with no complaints. The CityGrips were very good too maybe better but aren't available in as many sizes as the S1's... Get em you won't regret it

Thanks for the replies everyone. It's funny how you guys brought up brakes(and safety), I was planning on bleeding my front brakes this weekend. Never done it before(neglected), but it looks really easy the way the guy does it in the video that alleyoop posted not too long ago. I was going to get the Kendas again, but I really want to try the S1 tires out. They're only $10 or so more each, but I agree with all of you--- you really should NOT skimp out on stuff like that. I can't wait to see how they perform compared to the Cheng Shin and Kenda, to be honest. That Cheng Shin, front tire, isn't even close to being bald--- I'm over 37,000 on my odometer--- obviously kilometers. It's cracking a bit though, so might as well get them both done. Get the tires out of the way, bleed the brakes, and I'll be getting a new faceshield for my helmet---it's all scratched up.

It will be like a different bike with those tires. Keep it up safety first for sure

I can tell you how much diff good tires make vs bad.
My old Tempo, I had to replace the tires. I was making bare minimum wage and was paying off knee surgery (the first). So I found Tiger tires, all four installed and everything for $100.
They suxed puppies big time. No grip, no nothing. I would turn a corner just normally and they'd squeal and slide and lose traction. I lost the car when I stomped on the brakes and they just slid down the road without gripping at all. Hit the ditch, flipped over. Goodbye Tempo.
Never EVER settle for cheap-dog tires. EVER!

Personally I have good tires not so much for the daily ride, I have them for the emergency maneuvers one may have to make. When I'm maneuvering hard to get out of harms way, I need the absolute best my tires can provide. Yep never cheap your tires, your life depends on them more so than any other component on your bike..

I'm running the Chen Shin too and I'm getting great mileage out of them.

Avon Vipers, best grip I have found, but a little pricey. Totally worth it though.

Got my tires earlier last week-- I like them a lot. Feels good riding with 2 brand new tires, feels like the scoot and I are one.
