I must say I have a great deal from this tear down. 2 hours time into this very easy to get to just about everything. By the way this is or was a 2015 Zodiac In case you are wondering which one is my tear down it's the first one left.

I seem to have a corroded intake valve? Popped off the cylinder head and I'm replacing them with new OEM Honda valves.

Did a brake job and replaced the belt on the Icebear, and spent the entire time explaining to my nephew how the back break shouldn't hardly ever be used. His Icebear is less than a year old, and he completely burned the rear brakes off already. Giving his buddies rides everywhere and trying to use the rear brakes instead of slowing down sooner, not a good way to ride, and I hope he got the point.
Put a cone filter on the Rocketa, then had the other nephew add a fuel filter to the valve cover vent tube and zip tie it up high on the frame. With the new carb we put on it last week, and upjetting, it's roaring like a lion now.
Did the first oil change on the SSR since adding a 61mm BBK. Good news, no shavings, looks like the rings seated just fine! About time for a new set of tires, still on the original rubber at 8k.

I put blue Loctite on my license plate bolts so the nuts don't rattle off losing my new plate AGAIN.

Hmmm, I almost always use the rear brake. Along with the front it keeps the chassis neutral, but i think i see your point.
Hit 1000 miles on the way to work today!!!! Less than a mile after she died on me. LOL Doing 40-45 when no power. Sounded like it was still running all the way till i pulled over. Cranked over but didn't start the first stab at the button. Made sure everything was as it should be and it started on the second and kept running. I'll just chalk it up to a fluke until it does it again. Gets your heart going when immediately after you pull up to a busy light. Praying it stays running till at least the other side..hahaha Hopefully this weekend I can change the oils. Yay!!

Yeah, the rear brake should only be used for parking maneuvers and very subtle speed changes in a turn (though any need for slowing down in a turn shows you didn't enter the turn at proper speed/angle), and of course emergency stops. Using the rear brake can easily lock up the rear tire, and with all the weight on it, you can get a slide-out situation easily.

My scooter's fuel gauge LIED to me today showing me that my tank was 1/2 full. Sucker was bone dry! No big deal because I wasn't to far from home (or a gas station).... this time, lol. Thankfully my parents aren't too far from me either so my dad grabbed the gas "can" from my house and filled it up on his way to me. Gotta love that!
Now, to deal with ol' Pinocchio....

The wife and I rode our scoots to the shop for annual safety inspections (over 2 weeks late). Stopped for a sandwich at La Madeline afterwards. -I felt a sting on my collar bone on my way home. I shook a little honey bee out of my shirt when I got home. Glad he only had one stinger.

Put it on the operating table......nothing serious, or life threatening, just needed a new sneaker on the rear end after 5,040 miles of service. I'm going to take a bit of the surface rust off the muffler, and give it a new coat of high temp paint, before the scoot is returned to active duty.

Checked the "freshness" date on my front tire which split open... 1999... The danged new tire sat in the warehouse for 16 years before it went on my scoot... CHEESH!
From now on, I will be careful to have "fresh" tires. Live and learn... Leo in Texas
