if i could temporarily change the title of this thread to "what would you have done to your scooter today if your mailman wasn't dyslexic." just spent an hour of my time at the post office trying to track down my scooter parts. i will pay extra for signature or i won't order from now on. an extra $2. could have saved me this headache. Are you sure it is the post office and not UPS, Fedex or some other shipper that claims to have delivered your parts?

I unplugged Peej from the charger and started him today. Took a couple tries before his engine kicked in.
I had planned on driving yest, but it was spitty in the morn, and I was busy in the afternoon. And today was extra gusty, besides that my sinuses were trying to squeeze out my face. Not the best way to go driving for the first time this year. Hopefully tom morn will be clear, and sinuses too.
But at least I confirmed he starts, and idles just fine. Good old Piggy.

Washed and waxed my baby today. Been using a wash and wax combo soap, and the spray on Ice wax. You spray it on, wipe it in, then lightly buff. Been using it since I purchased my SSR 150, and it gets shinier every time. Light dust wipes off between washes easily, and water beads and sheets off without streaks. I even use it on the black plastics, I just wipe them with the saturated cloth after waxing the painted panels, and they are showing zero fading so far.

Tried adjusting the idle and fuel mixture to keep it on when idling, it won't stay on when idling no matter what I do; that new carb can't arrive soon enough

I took my scoot to the mechanics and got him all spring-tuned, plus oil changed. Now he's ready to go...if the rains ever leave, sigh.

The wife and I planned to ride our scoots to Waller, about 30 miles away, along old farm roads. At about half way, we ran into a stretch of dirt road that was too muddy to traverse with our 10" tires. Cypress Creek had been above flood stage all week. -Our local go kart racing track was somewhat on our way home, so we stopped to watch a few practice laps. The shifter karts were on the track running freeway speeds. We will have to attempt the trip to Waller again after some dryer weather.

Two scooter rides today:
First, I spent about 40 minutes putting 13 more easy and varied-rpm miles on scooter #2. It is breaking in nicely. No smoke whatsoever and it is getting stronger. I still can't believe I honed a cylinder and re-ringed it... and its running strong!
Later in the afternoon, I rode Scooter #1 from my house to Amicalola Falls State Park( on the AT in Georgia) and back. Roundtrip it was about 43 miles. Its a good ride from my house... no highways. A few twists and turns, lots of straight rolling foot hills. Reminder to self: no gas stations. Anywhere.

rdhood- I miss Amicalola Falls State Park. We had a lot of family reunions there. Most of the family has moved the to coast in recent years.

Just hit 2k on my 150, time to change the gear oil, and I always do the engine oil at the same time. Washed off the rain dirt from the past week, and put on a fresh coat of spray ice wax.
