I'm surprised at how long piaggio parts last while sittin in bad gas for 2+ years like the one I'm working on. I've cleaned out everything with minimal effort besides the carb which was a lot of effort but worked wonderfully on a scoot I'm working on. As far as my own scoot, I just changed my belt to a brand new MMG (modcycles) Kevlar belt. I know you guys all are in love with gates powerlinks but I am the same way about this company's Kevlar belts. I was lucky as was able to find a seller of it online, but they do not list it as MMG you have to ask them. Adjusted my valves to 0.006 each. Now I have an evil demon on ten inch wheels haha. The variator weights are 6.66, the scooter cruises at about 6.6k rpm lol... Cool,,man aren't your valves a little noisy set that loose,,mine are at .004 and get a little clacky after hot with synthetic? I was thinking about tightening them up too .003 but that will happen on its own if I leave them alone for a while.Atleast it did on my old chinese swiss cheese head..lol Not noisy, no. Seems perfect.

Will be putting on a 120/70-15 Michelin Pilot Pure Power tire on the front this weekend along with doing an oil/gear lube change. Local big brand motorcycle dealer has the tire for less money than most internet venders with no shipping fee either. The Aprilia Sport City is pretty good with the Sava up front but should be a bit smoother with the Pure Power which some race teams are using now. Hit some sugar sand and went down at about 40 mph (I thought I was going slower but this is what they tell me) as I changed lanes to pull into the dealership. The Aprilia needs a $1.58 turn signal lens and some paint touch up now along with some minor repair on the Givi top case. Low sided off the left with the bike running over me banging up and scraping my previously damaged left knee. The scrape was not bad enough to even need a bandage the way I rolled although the left knee on the jeans tore through. An interesting pattern has developed as the Port Wine colored bruising has turned to a lighter Claret from the mid inner calf up the inner thigh to uncomfortably close to where the sun don't normally shine. Should have listened to Kat and got the riding pants as I have no injuries where I was geared up aside from a mark here and there from velcro or a snap holding a piece of armor in place. The Silver Ignitor Jacket from Leather Up is barely smudged and has no tears or abrasions. The Sedici Armored Gloves are scuffed on the Carbon Fiber bits but protected my hands 100%. Bilt Apollo Modular Helmet is scraped but stayed together and the boots stayed on. Since I already walk with a cane and had the folding one with me I rode in to the dealership and had the new tire put on. The Pilot Pure Power is a great tire however I am not up to riding yet due to effusion on the knee which may need draining. Still need ice packs and pain killers but am making it to work each day. That was a close one.

Hit a pothole last night and my main stand spring went flying. Luckily I had a plastic grocery bag and tied the stand to the foot peg to keep it from dragging. I didn't know what happened at first. The potholes around here are horrible!
I needed a new spring anyway, it was wore out.

Passed 740 miles on the odo just a few minutes ago. What's special about 740 miles, you ask? I purchased the scoot at 370 miles. It means that I have now put more miles on the scoot than the original owner.

after 3 failed attempts to stop an oil leak using the old gasket i've decided to do it right. ordered new gaskets, rings, camshaft and rocker arm assembly. my cam has bad bearings and is fused to the rocker arm. also picked up 320 and 600 grit sandpaper to clean up the head so i get a good seal. once this project is complete it should be like new... well, except for a bad crankshaft bearing. it's always something.

I successfully converted a GY6 150 into a 155cc with a 4 valve head.

New battery. I can *finally* begin commuting on the scoot. Although, with the new place, said commute will be a solid 30miles SHORTER.

Today I finished constructing and installed daylight running lights (Mark V). s1359.photobucket.com/user/42nulldevice42/media/TMAX%20Farkles/DSCN0252_zpsdqcdaryv.jpg.htmls1359.photobucket.com/user/42nulldevice42/media/TMAX%20Farkles/DSCN0260_zpsvqshnbjr.jpg.htmlTwo ten watt LEDs each JB Welded to half a computer heat sink. The housings are 1 1/2 inch plastic plumbing trap pieces cut to fit and JB Welded to the heat sinks. The insides are lined with aluminum foil. The lenses are 44 mm planoconvex projector lenses that fit perfectly. They are so bright the reflective road signs glow on a cloudy day. I haven't the scooter out after dark, but I think I have what I want. I have aimed the hot spots about halfway between the low and high beam and a little off the the right to keep from blinding oncoming traffic. I also made and installed a new slightly larger wind shield extension to replace the old one that has stopped too many bugs. Nothing really new there, so no pictures were taken.

Installed the replacement carb and intake. Now all the rubber parts including tires are new and crack free! Just passed the 500 mi mark, time for an oil change and valve adjustment next.

$65 in parts out for delivery today. money i can't afford to spend. scoot is already tore down to the piston, just waiting on the mailman. was in the garage when he pulled up... woo hoo!... and 10 seconds later was disappointed he doesn't have anything for me. ran upstairs and saw "delivered" nearly 2 hours ago at front door. doesn't make sense since he just left but whatever, checked anyway. so apparently my package was on a different truck and delivered to a different address. tried calling but didn't get an answer. so what now? i'm out $65 and scoot is still in pieces... damn i need a drink!

Rode the scoot on my regular evening ride. Now, I live out in the boonies. I see lots of motorcycles on the weekend because those guys like to come up here and ride our twisty turny roads. Anyway, I'm almost home when, in the opposite direction, comes ANOTHER SCOOTER! I quickly turn around and catch up with him at our corner gas station. Turns out that he is new to the area and lives 4/10ths of a mile from my door. We swapped numbers and I hope to do a few scooter rides in the near future.
As for scooter #2, the m8x1.25 helicoil repair kit came in today so I am likely to find myself downstairs in the next hour or two fixing the cv transmission drain plug.
BTW, the motorcycles guys (literally hundreds of them on the weekends) nearly always signal to me . If not a two wheeled brother, they at least acknowledge me as a distant cousin.

Got scoot #2 prepped and put together enough to ride it. Rode for 35 minutes to test/set the new rings in the top end... about 13 miles overall.
