Hello, I haven't been on the forum for a long time,, back when it was S/D..My question is: I would like to find the correct slider weight for the variator. The scoot is a 2009 Znen 150T. It has 12 gm sliders in it now and lugs pretty bad on take off. Good top end 60mph. I will have to go with lighter weights the way I understand it. Is there a weight you would suggest ?. I weigh 190. It's a small town and I don't need a lot of speed. What advantage are different springs ?. Thanks for the help.. Harv..

11 or 12 g rollers would be plenty for you! Or get 11g sliders if you like your top end,,they push out the variator a bit more so the belt runs higher which in turn will give you a higher ratio...

How long have you had the bike and when was the last time you treated it with a good fuel system cleaner? You could just have a dirty carb. Also since you checked the sliders already did you use a solvent to clean the variator and sliding bushing? If so the oilite bushing is probably dry now and will be prone to sticking also.
With my previous bike, a 150cc Lance Vintage, 12 gram rollers seemed to give the best combination of acceleration and top speed for this 250 lb guy so 11 or 12 grams would seem right for sliders if you have 10" wheels.
Before I traded the Lance/Znen in on my current bike I had to replace the badly grooved variator and used the Hoca with the standard 12 gram rollers and the difference in acceleration was like night and day. The bike would hit 45 mph before getting across an intersection on a 2 lane divided main street and still topped out at a real 65 mph.

my Znen with 12" wheels came with 17 or 18gram rollers. Currently has 10gm sliders. 1" header and shorty muffler,110 jet, Quick enough off the line, fastest speed recorded so far is 56mph @ 9700RPM

JeepSteve sounds like your a bit too light and sacrificing engine life and fuel economy running at near to 10,000 rpm at only 56 mph. The more revolutions per mile cruising the faster you will wear that engine out. Hopefully you normally run below 45 mph most of the time.

My rpms only started to climb that high when I had 8g sliders in... I tried many different combos and never affected top speed by more than 2-3 mph. But, but the scooter and I are heavier/larger than normal frames, so its like I permanently have a 200 pound passenger.
Epdowd - I would buy a set of 10g to try. If they are too light, mix them evenly with your 12's to make 11g equivalent.
If you live in a flat area and are not a speed demon, I wouldn't worry about clutch/torque springs.

Thank you all for the replies !!. I figure the 16" wheels will show more lugging on take off vs smaller wheels. Is there much diff. between say 11g sliders and 11g rollers ?.. I may try the 10g also.. Yes, I put Sea foam in the gas.. Thanks again,, This is a good forum
