I got a scooter i sold back from a college student, sold it back to me for cheap since he was done with school. I had a 50mm ebay kit on but when i got it back he had broke one of the exhaust studs flush with head and it was leaking bad. I put a stock head on it and it was actually faster compression good and not way high less than my airsal kit even. Clearance was good no knocking or banging, so the horror stories about no 50mm kit with stock head are nonsense at least in this case it works and works pretty well.

Interesting, I always suspected this was the case but nice to see a credible source test it out! I have to use 2 base gaskets with my 50mm BBK as it is with the included head, is this with one or two base gaskets?

I'm running a stock head with my 50mm airsal bbk and it runs pretty good. Still you going to get that bbk head from scrappy soon.

Millsc. I have a question for you. Not a top speed question because that varies a lot. How much more performance would the 50mm performance head and a9 cam a scooter that already has the 50mm bbk. I got a pretty good bit of torgue from the bbk. Would it be about the same amount on top of that with the head and cam?

A9 cam works in conjunction with the big valve head, both is needed to optimize performance, run it with open air filter and hipro exhaust

DX The A9 cam adds some serious mid range and top end..it is like putting a tuned pipe on your 2T.... a whole new ballgame.. ;D

Once you try a HP Cam, there's really no going back... That extra midrange and top end the cam adds, does wonders for hill climbing, and keeping up with traffic.. It even provides more low end torque that is good for your launches... NCY calls it a HP cam, Scrappy calls it a A9, both are the same, what it adds is definitely something you can feel in the scooter, but i do think to get the most of the cam you need to consider the head, carb, exhaust, and variator weights..
