the reason yu have the timing advanced on motors is because the combustion process take some time, and you want to give the mixture as much time as possible to burn...but when the motor is turn low rpms the mixture has more time to burn and an initial advanced timing can cause problems such as detonation en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Engine_knocking , as motor rpms go up there is less and less time for mixture to burn so most ignitions have an advance built into them to keep lighting the mixture sooner and sooner

Post how it does I thought about an adjustable one but my stock box changes the timing with rpms and let's me set my timing higher than most boxes because of kickback when you crank it

Most of the WHAT THEY CALL PERFORMANCE CDIS are FIXED ADVANCED, that is why it kickbacks on starting. They do not advance they are fixed at a certain degree. Alleyoop

DX that was the reason I did not buy one that was adjustable. My stock cdi advances as the rpms go up.

Like I said put up a picture of your CDI, I know which CDIs advance the timing as the rpms rise. And I have to tell you NOT MANY DO, some you can change the timing BUT it is FIXED at that setting. Using a timing light my stock cdi fires on the F mark at idle when I rev it the timing moves up to the last mark on the flywheel. Its hard to explain I will try to make a video.
