howdy, i have never visited the other scootdawg, but received an email from it with advertizing for the site. apparently they are using the registrations from scootdawg.com to send out unsolicited stuff.

Are the bad feelings between these 2 forums ever going to stop
I Know that right now the staff at the new sccot dawg is working on their rules of conduct and one of the rules is not to bash other forums their members or staff

Hank I don't think what Shalomrider was in any way bashing the other forum but merely what he got in his email. Since he said he is not a member there then his information is correct, the only way they could know his email is to have the list of emails that is/was on the old Scootdawg.com.
Now according to the rules of a proboards forum this is considered spamming for members. You did mention rules and I'm sure they have a like rule as all forums do so his statement of not good IMO applies.
I'm not arguing here but simply stating the facts and until now I don't believe there has been any mention here of dawg.net so no bashing, and if I'm wrong please correct me and we do not want to bash any other forums either and if I or Doug have to incorporate that in the rules here I'm sure we can.
All of what happened is water under the bridge as far as I'm concerned but I am going to agree with his statement of the emailing old dawg members is not a good thing and could have privacy issues considering what did happen IMO.
I am going to check my email for this too.

I apologize as your right no one bashed the new site
I brought your concerns to mike the admin and I'm sure we will only be sending that to people that frequent the new site
But both of the above members are signed up with the new site as well as the old so they should go there and either delete there account or change their setting as to not receive new emails from the site if that is their wish
In fact your a member of the new site with a few posting under your belt so your going to receive the news letter as well
Mike is not going to send emails to all of the 20,000+ members the old site had but is using are present roster of members to send them too

At this point I have not received the news letter email and I am a member but my account is registered under a yahoo email account and I've seen it take 2 or 3 days to come, don't ask me why?
I'll not get upset over it, I am a member so I would think it would go out on the member roster there. If you have made the concerns known to Mike then let's hope by all means he takes your suggestion under consideration and only emails the current membership at his forum to date.

You got spam about scooters full of stuff posted by people you "know" Is it any different than this scootdawg.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=57959&page=1This was sent out right before the move to here so people would know to join this site. Most everyone (including me) thought it was a good idea. No one got any information you didn't give them. What does it hurt to see scooters? Why wouldn't we be happy about getting scooter mail?? I formally request that all scooter sites begin "spamming" me my email is winn_rob@hotmail.com I love scooters! Give me your best... Lighten up guys. No one is out to get you and they can't make you enjoy scooter talk in more than one place... ... this thread could have actually been helpful posted on the "offending" site I'm sure the admin would make every effort to make sure you were never made unhappy with future scooter spam... |

It was a monthly newsletter. whats the big deal I read it and deleted it. i thought it was a pretty good idea. I belong to some other car boards and look forward to the monthly newsletters that they provide as well.

That is not the point at all, he deleted all the SD.COM posted stuff BUT KEPT everyone's emails.
I just got 3 of emails from SD.NET from some of the emails I used on SD.COM.

Block and delete any mails from there, and you wont get anymore
no need to get legal about it
just block the sender and you wont get any more

i get e mails all the time that arent really spam
just i dont want it, so i block sender BAM no more e mails
and actually i feel sorry for mike
he spent all that money and since he tried to cheat
he got screwed
oh well maybe next time he will follow rules
