So,, I plan on doing a 140 mile loop that I enjoy on my MC with my 150 china scoot.I plan on bringing water, food,$,an extra cdi box and coil.I have a new Gates Power link on there so not too worried about the belt.Plus my cover is cut around the bell for added cooling.I will keep the speed around 35-40 MPH,,I know WOT is a killer.
I would like to hear some stories, tips, and tricks on long rides for china scoots only.Do we have to stop and let them cool down every 30 miles if its really warm out,,things like that.
Thanks and Good Times....

Lol I did that with my 50 last week on Thursday . Didn't have anything to do so rode to Helsinki and back in a huge country road trip . About 250-270 Klm the whole day . I did stop once for a coffee but was a great trip . Wot most of the way , scoot loved it . Got it up to 45/46 mph on the hills downside lol . As long as you stay away from the redline you scoot will be fine , especially if its not moded with a bbk or something . All I have done to mine was added a unrestricted Cdi to it and gave the f/a mix a quarter turn to rich. No other restricters were on it . Have almost 1000 Klm on it now and it has fully broken in . Rides like a dream .

I did 83 miles round trip, WOT most of the way, 53mph max one way, hit 66mph (tail wind and a huge hill) on the return leg. I only slowed for the city roads, and stopped at the turn-around point long enough to have a good drink of water. The air temp was in the 80's, strong wind, like 25mph so I had head wind all the way down and tail wind all the way back. I am pretty sure that was after a fresh upjet, so I wasn't running lean. About 62mpg average for the round trip. Xingyue ITA 150.

I wouldn't mind doing a longer ride on my Tomos but It only goes 58 max, and I don't really like going WOT for that long.

I've done a couple 100-130 mile days with a 50cc. The first on a mostly stock "secret 63cc" Chinese scoot and then more recently going harder and longer on my Derbi liquid cooled 2 stroke. With the air cooled Chinese scoot, since I was going WOT pretty much 97% of the way, I did take an extra break or two than I normally would have just to be on the safe side. You'd be surprised how tough these things are. Sounds like you've done some planning and have all the supplies necessary ready to go. I wouldn't sweat it one bit on a 150cc, and I'd say as long as you aren't going quite WOT all the time feel free to bump that cruising speed up a little bit (I averaged 35mph on the day on my 50's, meaning cruising in the low 40's with stints close to 50 mph).

Wot on kills if you are revving to high or over heating from running to lean. An engine that's tuned right can run wide open none stop.

I did Cleveland to Columbus (Ohio) and back a couple of years ago on my 150. Took the back roads. Most of the time was at 55 mph, so WOT. Temp outside was in the mid 90s. Scoot acted very well. My rear end hurt, but other than that, I'm glad I did it.
The only things I took were a small tool kit, 11 ounces of gasoline in a coleman jug, and the phone number of a friend who would have come with a truck if I had a problem.
