The red "P" light is on on my scooter dash. What does this mean? Brake fluid is full, doesn't seem like any lights are out. Goes on when scooter is running.
Normally it would illuminate when either brake lever was pulled.

If it's like mine, THAT is a (get this now... LOL!) a light telling you a cell-phone call is coming in! Instead of a "P" mine has a little icon with a poor rendition of a cell-phone by the light.
It comes on when any cell-phone nearby is ringing. Also when near restaurants (I hear their ovens somehow trip it)... I put a piece of black tape over it. It is the ONLY red light on my dash, so I'm betting that's what yours is too.
It's all part of that marvelous (LOL) combination alarm, lock, remote-start, chirp-chirp business that drains your battery while the scoot sits unused, and is good for little else.

I believe most of those idiots lights are time for some maintenace like change your oil wash the scoot etc..
If there are no reset buttons, I would disconnect the battery wait a few minutes then re-connect the battery and see if it resets. There was another one like this but I cannot remember on what forum. Either here or ScootDoc or ScootProf.

The red P light on my scooter is basically for showing me i am using the breaks.

If so then check if your brake lights are on, the brake switch may be stuck on.
If not then check in back of the instrument panel maybe a wire going to the light is loose or something. If all good then it is one of your brake switchs that has gone south.

Thanks guys (or girls, who the f knows). Scoot wouldn't start this AM, no spark, gonna see if coil is dead- wire is in sad shape.

My Echarm has a P light it is lit up when the kickstand is down and key is on . My Echarm has a kill switch in the KS to prevent starting while its down . I have seen the phone light on Bennellis but it had a icon of a phone

this pic from valley scooters - the same dash as my Znen, has a 'phone' looking icon, I've not seen it lit, and have no owners manual. I have no idea what it is for.  |
