Would it hurt to use a upper cylinder lubricant?

What motor? When? And how does it know to lubricate just the upper cylinder?

He is talking about an additive to the gas. It knows because it is not given the chance to lubricate anything else. Certainly can't hurt...

What most people do here is they add a capful of performance 2 stroke oil such as KLOTZ, Amsoil, Maxima Castor 927. Just a capful to help lubricate.

Now I tried something different in 1996, to my Yamaha Razz 49cc scooter-2 stroke. Tried adding some stuff advertised on TV to make the transmission slick as wet ice on wet ice, in the tranny. It ran good but suddenly froze for about 1 second( rear tire started to lock up) and than freed up. A clicking noise than came. We could never find the clicking noise. Looked in tranny, looked at head, rings, ect.. It still ran o.k.. but made a clicking. I don't do anything anymore, that is not recommended by manufacturer or someone else tried and works. The 2 stroke engine in 1993, used 10W30 oil in the tranny.

[replyingto=scooterelements]Scooter%20Elements[/replyingto]Castor smells so awesome burning too,,nothin like Bean Steam,,I use one ounce of it with all my 32:1 two strokes,,just for the smell,,might try some in the four stroke GY6 just for the heck of it,,that castor gets real gummy and carbons things up,,that why they only recommend it for racing motors that are tore down frequently,,but use just a little,,Id say 1 oz,,to the gallon would be fine.....the carbon from castor acts like a lubricant also even after its burned up,,that stuff has a great hot spot sticking quality too,,I just cant say enough good about castor oil,,heck you can even take a spoon if you get irregular...hehehe

I have used mystery oil for many years in my small engines, lawn mowers, garden tractors, ect.. I even add a little to the weed eater and chain saw fuel.
