Quick consult, here is the scenario: After thrashing a belt due to overlooking the mileage, changed belt worked fine for 3 weeks. Then one morning while going to work, after full throttle, I came to a stop and it died on me. Could not get it started again, I had spark and gas but would not start. After letting it stand for a while it started, but was missing a little bit of pull. After a week, I lost a lot more pull. Took to the shop and they "suggested" it might be the belt, so changed belt and still nothing. "Rollers" they said, so I changed rollers and they actually were worn and it did improve a bit for a while. Then started lagging on the take-off to the point I had actually to shove-off Back to the shop. They cleaned all the grime of everywhere involved with the CVT, checked carburetor and apparently everything was OK. Took it for a spin still the same "laziness". "Clutch" they said, changed clutch, no good results. I don´t know if it could be related, but recently the scooter died out on me. When I checked the gas filter had dried out. Shook it a little bit, it filled up and I was on my way again, still sluggishly. So, any ideas? My ride is a 4T 90cc. HELP!! Thanks

Did you think about replacing the variator?clean and adjust the carb?Adjust valves? there are a few things that could cause this. Maybe it was a coincidence that the belt let go when it did, I would check Compression, valves, carb, and then try variator. Belt may have damaged it

This is the prob with many shops who work on scoots. They seem to just guess. There is a motorcylce shop about 6 miles from my house that sells chinese scoots . I went there to oder parts a couplr yrs ago and they had no clue what drum brakes my scoot took and i even had tje old brakes with me !!! They tried to sell me some other drum brakes and just dremmel them to fit. Until i showed him another reason why they wouldnt work

If the CVT was not hanging up and it would not start until it was cooled off a bit,,I think you should look at the valve lash adjustment.Sounds like everything else is working ok.I would also make sure you have a good clean flow of fuel to the carb,,even if you have to by pass that pesky vacuum pet cock and get a manual one,,just make sure all your lines are downhill to the carb with no uphill bends or turns.Get that fuel filter off and put a new one on also.Maybe you gas tank is not venting properly either,,see if taking the gas cap off help the flow,,if so you need to get a better venting system or clean it out.I removed all my charcoal evap canisters that my vent went to,,and just relocated the vent up behind the tank high with a long piece of fuel line with a fuel-filter on the end,,zip tied.
