Richard, anyway u can rig up a small temporary gas tank and put it under seat and left it gravity flow to carb to see if you can narrow down the problem? How much gas comes out the fuel line when u disconnect it at the carb and turnover the engine. Need to isolate if problem is from tank to carb or carb beyond. If you rig up a small temp tank it would have to have a small vent hole in order to run to tank. Keep at it, you'll find the gremlin. Barnie ;D

I would (just to be sure) give the carb a good cleaning and run a stripped grocery store twist tie through the jet holes.

If you have been filling the top of the diaphragm on the slide with gas you probably have damaged it. It may run ok until the gas is sucked out, leaks out or evaporates but it probably needs attention now. Once the diaphragm is unseated too many times or starts to distrort from exposing it to solvents such as gasoline it wont sit in its groove properly and seat correctly or split causing a vacuume leak and preventing proper slide operation.

If that is the case, You would be better off to replace the carb rather than rebuild it. Not that much difference in cost. A new carb may solve your problem

Check diaphragm, looks good Did you get it seated in the groove and verify that the needle is in place, did not get bent, did not slip its adjustment and is not binding. The spring did not go missing either?

Barnie, first JR suggested to check the CDI out for loose ignition wire and yes it was loose, fix that. next on my list is taking off car and cleaning all those jets, and yes rockync, it seems like its in place, and work good, but I'll be taking it out to clean carb, I'll take a closer look (thanks) I did that gas line off carb and cranked the scoot, had gas pumping out

Took off carb today, I couldn't believe how badly clogged those jets were , soaked them for a long time, worked the wire through them and sprayed with carb cleaner and used my air nozzle to blow air through those holes to make sure it was clean, everthing in carb look good and got carb back in and got scoot running, will test drive maybe Sunday? But I still have to put the rest of the scoot back together Clean her out then buy this 50 buck Mr. Gasket Micro Electronic Fuel Pump 42 GPH 4 PSI 42S. Its made for 6 cylinder cars and comes with a micro fuel filter no problems with gumming up ever.

Richard, plugged up jets will sure make her run out of fuel at high speeds! Hopefully that is all ur problem turns out to be. If it came on gradually that would make sense. Let us know. Ridecheap, I have that exact pump on my JCL MP250 a with the linhai 257 engine. in addition to the micro filter that screws on end of pump I also installed a primary throw away filter before that one and the tank shut off. I just don't want any dirt in carb. Pump has been working great for a long time now. Barnie
