It's probably due to the vacuum loss at wot. I had the same problem with a brand new jonway. If you have the room, and the easy acsess, put in a manual petcock. That's what I did, And it has never died out again, Wot or any throttle position.

Wait a moment, you have been removing the cap on the slide diapragm and filling it with gas? You may have finally preforated the diaphragm or put the needle out of adjustment.

WOW you are going through an awful lot to re-start it. All I would do when mine was acting exactly the same way, was to take the fuel line off the carb, and blow into it. when you hear the bubbles in the tank, take the hose away from your mouth, and gasoline will be flowing out. Pinch it and put it back on the carb. AS I said before, get a manual petcock. And for Gosh sakes, don't open up the carb anymore.

You know I assumed he meant the boot connected to the carb from the air box but yes if you areremoving the top of the carb that is BAD...

Thanks for the response sailracer, when you put a petcock on, did you take the fuel pump off? rockync, the only reason I put gas in there is because my y connection are the type that seal good, I'd have to cut them off to put gas in intake line. plus my gas tank is below my carb.

A manual petcock will only work if the fuel level is always above the carb's float level...

O, that won't work then, just to clear up some confusion, I slide just the lid of my carb diaphragm just enough to give it a squirk of gas, then it will start up and the way a go again (I useally spray a little carb cleaner in there) but did have any, so that why I put a little gas in there. Scooter fires first time all the time run great, just ever once in awhile it takes fits like this, I trying to understand the problem.

Yeah, My fuel pump was tank mounted, so I just took it off, and replaced it with the manual one. Same threads and all. If you have the inline pump, a fuel switch is available for that too.

like I said before, try to blow into the fuel line. way easier. Oh! below it? You probably should look into an electric fuel pump.

Richard, take it back to the same hill and run it wot like u did the other day. If it cuts out on u again I would sure lean hard toward the fuel pump. Also if it cuts out again at that point loosen your gas cap and see it it will start. If the vent hose on the tank gets plugged up the gas cant run out of tank to pump. Be careful so gas does not come out of tank and start a fire. VApor lock would be something to consider if you think the engine got good and hot (not overheated) but hot from working hard on the hill at wot. Let us know. Barnie

From all the reviews I've read the reputation of OEM Chinese fuel pumps is just awful. (yanked mine out and put in a Mikuni, and bought an extra rebuild kit just in case.)

Pull the air filter instead to squirt gas or fluid into the intake. The diaphragm is probably damaged now and in need of replacement.
