Hey I know I have never been wrong. Just some of the questions didn't fir the correct answer.
My peave is the "experts" that make statements about other peoples ideas. In reality a lot of people seeking help have a difficult time asking the right questions.

Sometimes I get a call at my shop and the customer will be so oblivious to even operate a scooter or how to use a kickstarter so I go over the basics and after about ten minutes into the conversation, if theyre still unable to understand then I'll throw a few zingers in and ask them to check the blinker fluid and whatnot.

I will be the first to admit that I am the LAST person to give any advice on scooter repair...As a Newbie havent had to deal with much yet..knock on wood....And there are times I think the the questions I post for advice my have experienced riders rolling their eyes..I see so many different views and ideas posted that I have some difficulties sorting them all out. Yet I am thankful that people took the time to post all they do. Going to make mistakes and take the wrong advice but i will learn right from wrong one way or the other.

i think the people here who can really give good scooter advices are jr,doug and Edfr(a.k.a. lefty,or alleyoop). i'm not trying to kiss here, but their advices really makes sense. me,i'm trying. with my 23 yrs scooter experience, taken apart 2 and 4 stroke engines/ rebuild rotax engines for my seadoo sport boats/ rebuild lawnmowers etc. ..and still learning i just joke around a lot that's why i sound dumb!

Cheap top end speed gain, take off the mirrors and gain 5 mph on you top end speed. put on ski goggles so the wind slips to the side and not in your eye sockets. There are million stories in the big city. Alleyoop

Well thanks but I don't consider myself an expert. Just willing to give an opinion sometimes.
JR and Alley are much better at giving detailed instructions as are guys like Jim and John. All the vendors, the guys with repair shops and those that work at shops are worth listening to if they . contribute to a thread.
Honestly I think there are a lot of people with valuable advice here.

i think the people here who can really give good scooter advices are... Edfr(a.k.a. lefty,or alleyoop). That may be true he definitely knows his stuff, isn't it a little creepy that he needs three log ins. Sorry not sure how we as a forum can support purposeful deceit and then ask newbies to assume their "great" advice is always truthful. I hope the administration works hard to keep everyone down to 1 name and people who have been shown the door, on the right side of the door. Allowing and even supporting, condoning (by the administration), or say making them "founding members" does nothing to support the sense of community the vision of this forum shoots for (IMO not my forum of course so I don't really know) Anyway I say this with no animosity just a little advice. I'm all for second chances but not the promotion officially of these members once banned (certainly they were banned for good reason)... It can be a turn off to some who have been offended by them. Ok rant over... I have no ego in this so delete this if you feel it should be Jr or Doug

No rank was implied on the founding thing. I started to make everybody that signed up the first day or two Charter Members but it was just over whelming. The few that found us before the grand opening I made founders, nothing magical. I invited Alley and Jim to make some help thread and advice so the place was not empty.

One thing is very important here, nobody and I mean nobody is born with knowledge, it is something that is learned and experienced. We all had to learn at sometime.
I try very hard to be tactful when I know that advice that was given was just not right or cause a possible problem. I don't know it all and everyday if I don't learn something I feel the day was wasted.
Today I learned taking mirrors off makes a scooter faster!!!!!!
