I saw "The Angel Has Fallen" starring Gerard Butler and Morgan Freeman. It was a very slow starter, but picked up the pace nicely in the second hour. A good movie, but not great. Special effects weren't impressive. It will show almost as well on your TV screen.

We saw Downton Abbey last night at the theatre. Unlike the series, the movie was very fast moving. Maggie Smith was really funny. It was fun.

Took my wife out for her birthday to see Ad Astra, starring Brad Pitt. It was a slow mover. Not a lot of character development. The film seemed to be more about illustrating the vastness of space and lonelyness of space travel, but there was a plot. Not a bad movie, but I would wait for the video or download.

Saw the Maleficent sequel. Slow, starter, but a good movie. Suitable for kids, but still an interesting movie about manipulating people.

Saw Jojo Rabbit. It is a satirical story of a 10 year old German boy growing up during WWII. His imaginary friend is Adolf Hitler. This was not a boring movie and it had some funny scenes. It's a good way to spend a bad weather afternoon. I'd wait for netflix or rental.

Saw Harriet on the big screen. It's one thing for a lady to be brave enough to escape slavery by herself. It's quite another for a her, after experiencing freedom, to return to the South several times to lead others out of slavery. See it if you get a chance.

We saw Knives Out last week, starring Daniel Craig and Jaimie Lee Curtiss, among other recognizable actors. Craig played sort of an "Andy Griffith" type of investigator, and pulled it off well. The murder plot was intricate and unpredictable. It was one of the mildest R rated movies I have seen. No two wheelers in the film, but one of the characters drove a 1972 BMW 3.O CSL coupe. It's a really good movie.

Saw "Star Wars - Rise of Skywalker" yesterday at the theatre. The movie WAS well done, but I was bored. Same plot done a different way, IMHO. -The Star Wars series began when I was in high school. I never collected Stars Wars novelties, but I enjoyed those movies for a few decades. Maybe it's just me.
