Yeah, scooterists don't wave, wazzup w that?!
I wave at anything riding
Scooters will always get hate from "real" biker's.... I don't care cause the reality is that scooters are a lot of fun. No shifting, not fast enough to get into a lot of trouble but I still can have fun and keep up

Some feel threatened by them. I ride with the cruiser crowd on occasion and find that many have trouble keeping up with a 250cc scooter. Why would they have trouble? Dealing with a clunky shifter while trying to keep up with a bike that has seemless power and is always in its optimum torque range. Most cruiser riders seem to roll off the throttle a bit too soon before they disengage the clutch and slow down when they start to shift. Then there is the lag as they try to shift to the next gear without skipping one. Then they have to roll back on the throttle while they let off the clutch lever. It all takes time during which they loose momentum not to mention make a ton of racket as they clunk through the gears and leave behind a trail of raw gas fumes that will make your eyes water. Ride behind them you endure the slow takeoffs, racket and fumes while in front you leave them in the dust when going for a spirited ride. The heavy bikes do not flick well either so most of the weekend warriors that ride them are not up to any canyon carving either. On the interstate above 70 mph they will get you however below that most times they will slow you down. To be fair I ride a high compression fuel injected Aprilia 250 with 15 inch tires which puts out close to 25 hp and can attain to speeds in excess of mph so it is not what you would consider a typical 250cc scooter. Anyways they don't seem to like it when they have dumped $10,000 to $20,000 on a status symbol and can't keep pace with a sub $3,000 scooter with an engine 1/4 to 1/3 the displacement of their bikes.

Well I had a brief discussion with one of these haters a while back, I admit I was not in a good mood that day, and was a little harsh to him as he was the one smarting off about my scooter. I simply told him road rash is road rash regardless of what your riding, and I face the same dangers as he does, and a few more dangers that he don't, because of my lower displacement engine, and that regardless he had no right to tell me what i like or want to ride.. An hour later he came back and apologized.

I don't know.. I think it's just stupid to assume that someone riding a car or motorcycle would hate a scootard. I ride both bicycle, scooter, moped, motorcycle, and car, and I don't feel like I hate any of them. I do see the dangers in all of them, and riding them all makes me a better rider/driver.
But sometimes I see people doing stupid and dangerous things, Just the fact that on a 900CBR you can go 150+MPH, doesn't mean you should do it. And those that do, definitely should not be zigzagging inbetween cars, even if it seems safe; it is not, and very disturbing. The day more racers will enter the streets zigzagging, the chance will appear for 2 of them to hit each other and cause all kinds of problems for the riders behind them.
I don't dislike anyone, except if they're riding super slow or dangerous.
Riding a 50cc makes us usually pretty slow, but as long as you know your speed limit, and are not riding on 45MPH roads, when you can only do 35MPH, I have no problems with you. Some scootards ride 25-35MPH on a 45-50MPH road, and are annoying as ! Especially if they could take a parallel road to the one they're riding which has a speed limit of 35-40MPH.

Still, A bicycle with an engine kit is a toy compared to a scooter, but it's still a fun toy! So who cares if I ride one? It's efficient, it's fast enough (usually 30-35MPH top speed)...

Thanks! (Glad you enjoyed it.) How long had you been waiting for the right moment to use that one?? Or does it just come naturally??
