GROW UP Really salracer Yes You were Evading the Question. Then You start Yelling at me like a petulant child thinking that is going to prove your point. You were The one to Infer that I was a drunk. When in Fact it was your action's not mine!!! So I set the fact's right. Then I asked A Few very Simple Questions. Not 1 or 2 times. But 3 Time's before you answer 1. Even then you Yell & try cast Aspersions at me. I'm sorry that you Feel that you have to try to Demonize some one to make your self feel better. It's such a waste to go through Life so Bitter. Also it's not worth having a hart attack over. But If that's your choice I'll defend it. Dave

WOW! How does giving some simple advice escalate to this? I never inferred that You were a drunk.I'm not bitter over anything. Sounds to me like you are the one with issues. you took it as a personal affront to your drinking. NOT! You are the one casting aspersions, not me. Ask a direct question, you get a direct answer. If you think driving while buzzed is not drunk driving, than so be it. May God protect you. BTW, I have'nt touched alcohol in 20+years

These numbers are not arrived at will-nilly! They are the results of scientific, and medical testing of reaction times, co-ordination etc. I used to feel the same way, I could do anything as good or better drunk than most people could do sober.Thats because I was always drunk. It's called tolerance. As you age, and your alcoholism progresses, your tolerance fluctuates.I once drank an entire 5th of Old Grandad at a bar in Newport, got up, said goodbye and drove home withno incident! The bar owner, and many people could'nt beleive i was even concious! Made a ledgend of me. Fact of the matter is i was drunk as usual. Buzzed driving IS drunk driving legally and medically! When the your foggy way of thinking clears up,(after you stop drinking for a long time) you will realize this. salracer, I have 1 Question only. Isn't this your statement to me last night??? A Yes or no will suffice. Thank you in advance for your strait forward honesty. Sincerely Dave

Dude give it up this getting annoying. He was speaking to a general "you" meaning anyone in that situation if this includes you so be it but give it a rest you are making people think your wearing an asshat and it doesn't look pretty. Friendly advice here, in all honesty take it or leave it...

Yes, I see now how"you" could be construed as you, dragonsparks, what it infers is you collectively. don't be so sensitive. Jack

I think you're not defining "buzzed" the same as me, or the current ad campaign against buzzed driving. You're going strictly by BAC, not reaction to the drink. Maybe you can handle three scotches and you're just fine, no change in reaction or perception or anything. Maybe I can drink one Coors and not realize I'm not noticing stuff and my reactions are slowed. You would have a lot higher BAC, but I would be the one that's buzzed. So buzzed driving would be as bad as drunk driving, 'cause you're not as alert as you should be. And those "million times" you say you were buzzed, I'd argue you weren't. Sure, you had alcohol in you, but it sounds like your body can handle a few drinks and not be very affected--not buzzed. >'Kat wow this thread got weird. kat, im not strictly going by BAC. i used to drink more back when i got my dui therefore a 1.1 wasnt enough to effect my driving skills, (i was speeding not swerving) today a 1.1 would have me half passed out because i dont drink much anymore. i am referencing BAC because thats what they use to quantify these sort of things, and they came to that one average as the limit, thru the numbers. if it werent tru, why would they let drivers under 0.08 go? buzzed is just as bad because you still arent alert "as you should be"? so slightly tipsy with eyes wide open is just as bad as half passed out running up on the curb? i personally observed two men in a suburban driving down a four lane main road at night, running about 40 mph, and running up on the curb as the road gently curved, not once, but three times in less than two minutes. when they did stop at the redlight (a miracle in itself) i got their attention and the passenger rolled down the drivers window. the driver was almost unconscious seat reclined, and passenger so drunk he yelled "LEAVE HIM ALONE HES DRUNK" at me. Or how about texting not watching the road at all, been run off the road by folks texting or otherwise engaged in other activities while behind the wheel like reading books. a girl in the military survived 3 tours in afganistan came home to NC and was killed by a guy updating his facebook on an ipad. i was in charlotte with my mother and came upon a woman driving an escalade while holding her phone so that she and her two daughters in the back seat could all watch youtube together. i am not exaggerating she was watching with them, i got her attention at a light and asked her if she really ought to be doing that while driving her daughters around in a 3 ton steel can thru traffic. ill take a buzzed driver thats focused on driving home over a slap drunk, texting and makeup and magazine reading folks, and people twittering out of their twatters while they should be checking their mirrors and looking out for slower vehicles like US. and i dont know why you would argue to better know my condition. i think i know when i am buzzed, its sort of the point, you can feel it. and i never said it was always alcohol either, but whatever the case, i know my body well enough to know exactly what i can and cannot do. so please dont act like im some child who doesnt know how alcohol works. all that being said, im just saying that there is plenty of things that are just as bad if not worse than partial alcohol intoxication, it depends on the person it depends on their skill level and it depends on how much they are paying attention to what they are doing period. there are more automotive accidental deaths that are not alcohol related than are, but there is almost nothing done about THOSE silent killers. oh and dont forget bears.
