I have a 2008 BMS TBX 260CC Scooter. It loses power at full throttle going down the road. The scooter barely stays at 70 MPH as it is, so when on the highway and this happens, traffic is fast approaching from the rear. If I mess with the throttle handle the power will come back eventually. It is most prevalent on uphills, or into a headwind, lastly when it is really hot outside, ( 's) Does anyone have any input on what the cause of this might be? The scooter has less than 2000 miles on it now.

howdy, i don't see any of the smart ones responding so i'll throw out something. with automobiles that would indicate possibly bad plug wire or plug or timing issues. it could also indicate restricted fuel flow. i can't speak to transmission issues that might project the same symptoms.
lotsa miles and smiles to ya. ken

Try this it may be running a little lean on the top end at WOT, When it starts to loose power BACK OFF THE THROTTLE about 1/4 of an INCH AND HOLD IT and see what it does. A. If it speeds up it is LEAN- Try the next bigger main jet B. If it just settle down it is Rich- Lean out your Fuel Ratio Mixture Alleyoop

I would make sure your gas is fresh, add some seafoam and run it hard. I would suspect the fuel pump is weak just because it was junk the day they bolted it on. 25.00 for a pump and replace the filter (it needs both anyway)and you will know it's not that if it it still does it.

Hi. First, I'm impressed you're looking for more power at 70 - I weigh 240, and I'm pretty much topped out on my 260 at 70. Second, I would also go over your vacuum lines, as well as the manifold. Sometimes the vacuum pump can't keep up at highest speeds if there is any vacuum leak. Finally, "in alleyoop we trust." Be sure to try whatever he suggests!
