Edit- i found the source of the noise. It was wear on the left bearing in crankcase, wear on left bearing of camshaft and some wear from the chain rubbing the wall of the case.. I am going to install a new head, crankshaft, and chain tensioner.
I need to take off the flywheel and am not sure which tool to order.
It seems to measure 25 mm on the nut, but a 17mm socket fits on it.
I am not sure if I need a left handed thread or right handed either.
If anyone knows what a 16" wheel scooter needs, please let me know.
Thank you

I'm still having issues getting the right flywheel puller.
I ordered a 28mm x 1 right handed flywheel puller and it is too big.
I re-measured it and I am hoping that it is correct this time. It appears to be a 27 x 1 left handed puller... If anyone who has a 16" wheel scooter has removed the flywheel, please let me know what puller you used.
Thanks

Scooter Elements- I saw that, but is 27 what is most common or 26? For a 150cc... How long does it take for shipping to California? I have never really seen any scooter not use either a 24mm or 27mm. I do offer money back if it does not fit for any reason. It gets shipped off the next day after ordering via USPS First Class Shipping to California from Puerto rico should take 5 days or so. Faster shipping can be provided. Padded Flat rate envelope Priority is 6.00 extra. Those options are available in our ebay store. As you can see in our ebay store we sell these alot cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=161029459357&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT

Scooter elements- I tried your puller and the 27mm was correct, thanks.
I finally had time to remove the flywheel. I did not remove exhaust, but i was able to loosen and inspect where the starter clutch is. I could not see any wear on the starter clutch and i could not wiggle the crankshaft, so it appears that nothing major is wrong. I will test ride aftet i re-upolster my seat.
Anyone know if the gasket for crankcase is universal?

I got mine from scrappy- I also have an ITA150, and it worked fine. GY6 dual sided Flywheel rotor puller tool This is a reversable flywheel puller tool that works on both 50cc and 150cc GY6 based scooter/atv engines. Do it right, and do it cheap at only $29. ! on this page - five / sixths of the way down www.scrappydogscooters.com/COMMON_PARTS.html

Anyone know if the gasket for crankcase is universal? No problem man for $12.99 its a great deal on that flywheel puller. as for the gasket universal? not sure what you mean. You can just pick up a full gasket kit they run $11.94 on my ebay page or i think other sellers sell individual ones.

I meant do the gaskets come in different sizes or shapes for the crankcase?
My scoot has a different shaped gasket for the valve cover.I'm not sure if it is different than other gy6 157qmj engines for the crankcase gasket.

I believe that the normal GY6 valve cover uses a rubber O-ring type, and the GY6B uses a paper type gasket under the valve cover. I have a Xingyue ITA 150 with the GY6B. I've reused mine a couple times now, I usually put a thin layer of grease on both sides of the paper. It stays put, and doesn't leak, keeps the paper gasket from deteriorating.

Jeepsteve- was there a trick to removing exhaust from the head?
I had trouble getting a socket in there between the frame and engine plastic... i didn't want to strip something, so i will test ride the scoot and see if i can hear any noises... then investigate further.

I think my exhaust didnt really make a difference on accessing the stator - I had just put the new exhaust on when I had to replace my stator. The body work is more in the way than the exhaust was. I did not remove the new exhaust to get to the stator.
When I did replace the exhaust, it was really simple, no problem - undid the head nuts and then the swingarm bolts. Came right off. I did have the exhaust off last year cause I wanted to try and quiet the rattly . There was no original gasket, so I got a sheet or Felpro material with metal in it, worked well.

[replyingto=jeepsteve92xj]jeepsteve92xj[/replyingto]I'm trying to track down a noise coming from inside engine... i thought it might be a crankshaft bearing, that is why i needed a flywheel puller.
I took it out for a test ride and i can still hear a noise and it also feels like something is going to break from vibrations. I have already inspected/ changed everything in cvt so i can rule that area out.
I guess i might have to pull the engine to track down the noise... the strange part is that it has great acceleration.

I took it out for a few test rides and i can still hear a constant noise coming from crankshaft area. I even bought a mechanics stethoscope to verify where the noise is.
I'm going too have to pull the engine.
Has anyone used a bearing puller from harbor freight to remove the starter gear behind variator? They have a cheap one for 16.99... Or do i need a gear puller?
Any advise on where to look for torque specs?
