take a motorcycle safety course - when you complete it you will be able to upgrade your driver license to cover cycles too. a MSC usually puts you on their small motorcycles, unless you actually can not ride a standard bike.

Thanks I know but My question is If I have waited 60 days can I go to the dmv and use my 150cc scooter for the behind the wheel cone test they have for motorcycles? (Technically sense it's 150cc it's considered a motorcycle But it does not have gears). Also i don't have a drivers license yet. But have the learners permit for a bike and a car.

You should be able to I can't say for sure though since laws vary state to state and country to country and we have no idea where you are...

I got my MC license when I was 16 on a Suzuki GS 550 so a scooter should be easy . The MC road test is by far easier than that for a car or at least in SC it is . Make sure you have a MC tag not a moped tag , all lights and horn works and most important a helmet . When I took the driving test it had just started to rain but the DMV employee said to go ahead since I had waited a long time in the lobby . I had to go a straight line then turn around and come back the same way . Next I went through a double figure 8 course with cones with plenty of room in between them . Next stop on a ramp without rolling backwards then proceed and last drive over a painting of train tracks which is silly to me . Unsure on current test in SC as this was 25 years ago . I think some states may require a MC driving class which is a great idea for noobs as I have lost too many friends to wrecks on two wheels . I was one of the very first to get a moped license at 14 as SC had just started it before my birthday . Back then a moped was only the pedal type as other 49ccs were considered a small motorcycle but they have grayed the law to include scooters but as long as no faster than 30 MPH . I have heard from many riders that SC has been pulling over those with a generic moped tag that exceed 30 MPH as so many have a moped tag on a 150 which is illegal . I have a MC tag on my 50 since it goes much faster than 30 MPH and I do not have health insurance so I opted for med pay and personal injury protection on my insurance policy like in the event a tire blows out and I have to go to the ER . Best of luck , have confidence and once you get your license drive it like a boss but safely

I know here in FL there is a separate license for large sized scooters, and automatic motorcycles. A DL for motorcycles is valid for scooters, but not the other way around (I presume).
I know because when I arrived with my scooter, the lady asked me why I did not sign up for the scooter classes. I told her because I was planning on buying a motorcycle; and needed to be able to ride with gears.

Whatever you do, goodluck to ya.. I beleive they will make you take it on a motorcycle if you do the motorcycle safety course
You will do YOUR vehicle if you do the DMV
This is MY thought

In SC they combine MC and car on the same card rather than having one for each driving class .
So Florida has a course for scooters only ?

no, FL has a course for motorcycles, and a separate section for scooters. FL is private schools too, not only DMV.
And in here they provide a motorcycle.

I would just call the DMV if possible, get it from the horses mouth .. DX My best advice is if your state allows the use of a scooter and that's what you intend to ride.....then that's what you should use. Once you gain more and more confidence with the scooter, you then can decide if you even want to ride a motorcycle....but by then, you may not even want to

Another plus for MCS is that passing gains a reduction of insurance premiums
