Does a 1500k tourque spring with 2k clutch springs do anything for performance? The 2k clutch will just delay lock up until past 2k rpm so you are More into the Meat of the HP. The 1,500 torque spring will in a round bout verbiage keep in a higher numerical longer so even More into the HP meat of the GY. Im on a Stock internal GY150 and run Both the the 2k torque and 2K clutch springs, for a stock internal 150 I can pull some wak the throttle holeshots in town and leave traffic. I wish I could find even stiffer springs so anybody have a hookup letmeknow Its all about what we can get out of 8.5hp or so..and thats in a proper CVT tune...

so you want a hot launch? I know it goes against common knowledge in biker land but if you add significant flywheel mass and your CVT is setup to hit peek rpm and clutch dump into a heavy variator weight .... well your going to go ...fast
pistonguy do you want stiffer clutch weight springs ? because I have had no luck with that I have five different sets of the same damned spring with different paint jobs all stock well no I take that back I have six one set is made from, I think it's bailing wire?
but if you want to up your clutch engagement rpm I can recommend cutting the ends of the clutch weights and re-calibration with a gram scale I jumped 500 rpm with an hour's time just as an experiment

Chewy ya did it again, knocked some sense out me. in the 80's I ran both a Horstman Plate and a Burco Shoe clutch on the Yam race Kart, the Burco you just added or subtracted weights that screwed to the shoes. Ill butcher up my OE clutch for testing.

My variator blew up on me while I was driving so I stopped and the noise went away so I proceeded on my journey to NH for cigarettes. I tried to start my scoot and low and behold nothing. I keep some tools under my seat took the variator cover off and there was a lot of damage. My variator nut loosened and destroyed my bendix gear and my kick start was wiped out and my cooling fan melted into a ball of plastic but hey my brand new belt that I just put in was in perfect shape lol. I guess I should have tightened up my variator nut before I went for a spin. Now waiting for parts again another week with no scootypie. I bought extra parts in case I'm to stoned to check my nuts hahaha. And the heavier rollers didn't make much difference at all with tak off and acceleration. I put my 7g back in those seem to be the best for my weight and I'm still not getting over 45mph. I just put a KeiHin 20mm carb in and my stock carb blows it away. Any thoughts on this besides checking my nuts.

your going to have to check your nuts by yourself its not that kind of place 45 sounds good for an 80cc cylinder much more power and your going to need a bigger block to handle it

I checked it its a cvk and that is KeiHin. They give them a different name and sell them cheaper. I bet they buy the seconds to sell them cheaper.

My carb I bought right from taotao with a air adjustment on it. It cost me $50 but it is a nice carb. Maybe I need to mess with the air mix a little more to get it right. Any thoughts?

I’d put the stock contra/torque clutch spring back in and see if you like that better.

I was actually thinking about that but I put the 15k torque spring back in to see how that goes. Haven't got to try it yet I'm waiting on my variator cooling fans to come in. I had a major meltdown.

I don't smoke very much. I'm a lite weight now. I have a starter delema!!! My old bendix gear had a cap on the bushing end. I bought anew bendix gear and the starter just spins no contact. My variator blew apart I think I didnt tighten the variator nut so of course its gone along with my kick start gear. Do you think the bushing is worn because it seems that the bendix shaft has to go in the bushing to get the cover on. I measured the old and new and there identical. I packed the bushing with grease and it started repeatedly until today so I repacked it with grease and just spinning.
