Need help identifying this box, I believe it has failed and is causing a ground fault on one of the stator lines, causing the charging system to fail. When I unplug this box, the only noticeable effect is the headlights go dark. It has the code X11060 (or X110G0) printed on the back, which turns up nothing similar looking on the internet. This is not the main rectifier, and it is not the CDI. This is a 2012 150cc GY6 Scooter (HT150T-20). Read more: Previous Post Thanks for taking a look, Stumped

Would it make sense for a 150cc to have two regulator/rectifiers? the grey box with the fins to the right of the box in question is the 6 pin R/R, which I already replaced. a blocking diode seems to have 2 leads/wires. this box has 4 pins. wires coming in are Green, Yellow, Brown & Black.

Use deduction, obviously It can't be a two pin blocking unit. On my Znen I have a 6 pin R/R unit (replaced mine too, OMP upgrade) as well as the 4 pin unit. If you check the listing for Absolute scooter you'll see those very four colors listed and in the click-to-enlarge picture. (Again, contact them first and make sure it is the part you will need.)

one possibility: it could be a bridge rectifier converting 12v AC to 12v DC. In this case the AC input would be the yellow/green while the DC output would be the brown/black

It's a relay.

the mystery box could also be a regulator/ rectifier for the head light. this would imply the CDI would be the AC type. this is my opinion of course.

Any ideas on how to repair or bypass a box like this (I know, not knowing for sure what it does...) items like this, CDIs, and regulators/ rectifiers cannot be serviced. their boxes are filled with a very hard plastic or "tar". you need to figure out what it is before you bypass it. check the headlight bulb and your CDI. if the bulb is 12v and the CDI is AC then the mystery box is a regulator/ rectifier. if the bulb is 12v and the CDI is DC then the mystery box can probably be eliminated. if you purchased this scoot from someone else (an individual) then you need to go through the electrics THOROUGHLY. on my scoot, black was switched DC power (hot with the key on) green was ground striped were "signal" wires (pulse pickup, tach rpm, etc) red, direct connection to the battery (possibly through a fuse)

It came up a while back it is a relay, I think JR settled this the last time.

you would have to probe and trace the wires.

Hot, switched ground, and two outputs, would make electrical sense if using high watt dc bulbs. along these same lines, it could also be a modulator, switching between high and low beam. my scoots (i had 2) didn't have high or low beam headlights. in either case, it wouldn't hurt anything to bypass it, but a modulated headlight will make you more conspicuous.

I think I finally found the MBB part that I've been looking for. Called a DRL Relay, they have one on Amazon with the right look and pin connector here: www.amazon.com/dp/B075NKV6R4/Haven't bought it yet, going to dig out the old one tomorrow to be sure I remember it correctly. bummer the pics in this message board got wiped or moved or something.
