check the vent hose if so equipped. It has a rubber line that goes from the bottom of the gearbox to the airbox. It may be off or cracked. also make sure the fill and level screws are tight. Last, make sure it's not overfilled. If all that checks out, you probably need a new seal or gasket.

Be careful with that tach. I parked in the bright sunlight once this summer, and the display turned all BLACK! I thought it was broken. After I put it in the shade, and it cooled down, the display returned to normal but I cover it now if it's going to be in the sun

Excellent job. I have the same tach, located in a different position though. You can also get some strip led's from wall mart, and if the red reflector panel is removable, stick them behind it and replace the reflector. I did it to mine and have running/brake/ and directionals all wired so the trunk lights up.

The only different part (the one you have to change) on long valve vs short valve heads is the rocker arm assembly. Everything else on the motor stays the same.Including the shroud.

I have just over 300 km on my new scooter... in that time I have had two incidents already with other drivers: The first one was a woman who felt the need to pass me up a blind hill over a double yellow line (No Pass Zone) and I was doing better than the 25mph speed limit. When I reached the red light where she was stopped a few cars back from the right turn she was waiting to make I put my scooter right in front of her car so she could wait a lil bit. As the light turned green I moved up, she pulled beside me and says "that $h&t can get ya killed" I said so can passing someone up a blind over a double yellow moron, piss off!! The second was a Sheriff Deputy. I am in downtown Concord, NC in a 20mph zone on a two lane road with no passing. I am easily doing 25mph and this guy passes me in the SAME LANE!! He had no blue lights on, slowed back down after he passed me and just kept driving. He stopped for the next red light and I was pretty angry. I pulled up to his window, tapped on it and he rolled it down. I said "What is your problem?" All he could say was excuse me? I said you passed me in the same lane back there in a no passing area, are you trying to kill someone??? He said that he gave me room and I said I don't care, you passed me in the same lane, what if I had turned left? You would have planted me. I told him to do me a favor and if he see's me on the road to keep his patrol car the away from me, I am not trying to get run over by someone who is supposed to protect and serve. I left. That was it. When you went to the zoo as a kid, did you taunt the lions in their cage?

While I would certainly agree That a larger scooter is the "BETTER" choice overall,He has already stated that he would rather not go through all the beaurocracy to get one. What he is asking for is advice on 50 cc scooters And a large frame ,slightly modified 50 cc can certainly be capable of carrying 270 lbs around a metropolitain area with no problems. I see it often in northeastern cities. In fact, I ride one myself. I weigh 210 lbs, and It has plenty of power for me plus 50-60 lbs of food and gear on occasion. I don't see why a properly modded 50 wouldn't do the same for them

Mine is a large frame with 12" wheels (by the way, The first thing you should do is get a good quality set of tires) I've got altogether, in the $500.00 neighborhood of mods on mine. That includes a couple of hundred for the Michelins. The difference is phenominal!A stock 50, in my opinion is not satisfactory to drive in traffic with. It lacks the power and acceleration needed to safely merge and ride along with regular traffic. There are a few decent scooter dealers in the greater Boston area. You should check out a few before you buy.If you look at the scooters in the scrolling pics at the top of the home page, you will see mine.

A lot depends on exactly where in Boston you plan on riding the thing. As a New Englander born and raised, I have been to boston countless times. If you ride in Roxbury or jamaica plain, even dorchester, you should be ok. If you plan on Storrow drive rides, Good luck and may God be with you! You may want to consider getting a 50, and adding mods like I have listed below in my signature. It will accelerate and get you into the flow of traffic much safer, faster, and easier.

Seems to me as "ODD" behavior for an attorney to lobby for laws which would be counterproductive to his/her profession (ambulance chasing). Have I died and awoken in a new world?

you will almost never get a "Perfect color on the plug.If you can upjet, try 1 size. I don't understand about the airbox. I use mine, and I have all the holes I drilled in it blocked . and it runs great maybe you do need a new carb.
