old stator has bad spark..good charging. New engine has good spark wrong stator.. redo stator rewire to fullwave, on the new one that has good spark...

over 100 psi on healthy motor. Crack open throttle when testing compression.
Do a dry test and a wet test comparison .. Squirt oil in the cylinder through the spark plug hole. Rotate engine to work it in. Reread compression. This will tell if you have a leaky valve or messed up rings. If the reading jumps wet, the rings are not sealing right. If the reading stays low the valves are leaky or blown headgasket.
Sometimes a cylinder will dry out. Moister gets in and pops the carbon off the rings and the top of the piston. This will leave a condition where the engine is fine but no start, no compression happens. Squiting oil inthere corrects this enough to fire the engine. Once it runs awhile the carbon reseals and you are good.
My 50cc did this. It sat for 10 days. Came up to it and kicked the engine over. No compression. Wierd!!. I rotated the engine over to work in some oil and after 20 minutes the compression returned and she fired up.

So i thought I needed a battery for my scoot 50cc. I added a HID headlight and thought I needed a battery. So I got one. They just suck. So what you can press a button and vroom. So lame.
I have been kick starting my 50 for 3 years untill last month. With the new battery I start with button but it is not the same. I prefer to kick it. It tells compression and overall engine health. It starts like a dream. So I found a Audio Cap at the local pawn shop and got it to play with.
The plan is to disconnect the battery and run off the cap. This will be to power the 4amp HID headlight and LED tail.
I will make a video if it all works and show Yall.
Cool thing about these Caps is they have a build in volt meter. And they look really cool on a stripped Rat Scooter.
So that's the plan man. Now Battery. Kickstart with ele backup via jumper cables.
Update------------------------ I tried it and it doesn't work. The HID draws 8 amps then 6 amps and finally 4 amps once hot. The cap drains before the lamp heats up.

1. change fuel filter (and fuel lines) 2. change drive belt with Kevlar Belts (yup) 3. adjust valves (yup) 4. change CDI to deregulate rpms (maybe) 5. remove the spacer by the variator to deregulate the speed(there is no spacer now days) 6. tighten all the bolts.( you have to leave 1 loose.) 7. change the oil( it has to want to change.)
stock 50cc Cranks go about 9000 miles. then its tear down time. Variators, clutch need maintaince. Variator has a bronze bushing it needs to soak up oil so it will last. Clutch has grease inside that needs to be redone bout every 3000 miles. Belts kevlar 4000 miles+
If you mod them over rev expect a shorter tear down cycle.
Most guys around here see 1200-3000 miles on 80cc b4 it blows. 70cc's seem to blow in a year of hard riding. 50cc's don't blow up.
100cc's Ha Ha.. last a week or two.
If you want a scooter that you can run to death go Japan or Italy French German, $$
Chinese are Cheap Toys that need to be run Hard.
The best way to do these China 50cc is get a new one cheap add BBK,preformance variator and run it hard for a year. Sell it get another one do the same.

1/2 key width. I did it and I set it back stock. I was testing to see if advancing the timing was to offer ann more power, I had a bad head with a leaky intake valve, so once I hade that fixed I regained power and set the timing back to stock.
