Is it possiable the fuel sensor is malfunctioning ? Ive seen it where it will read full come back later and it read down a little.. Best way to confirm it is to put find a clean stick, or piece of rubber tubing. Dip it in the tank and mark the spot where the fuel come up to, come back later and check again when the gas gauge has dropped for no apparent reason..

howdy, i like the idea of people meeting to socialize with scooters as a common interest. if one rode the scooter to the "breakfast club" that seems like an acceptable goal but then i'm a poor rider and don't like to travel with others because i might get behind the scooter and traffic and road conditions and have a problem i wouldn't have had when riding on my own. so i'd say maybe a combination of meeting for breakfast THEN those who wish going for a destination ride somewhere? that way if benefits everyone? lotsa miles and smiles to ya ken Hi Ken I will say being a slower or poor rider should not bar you from joining and having fun riding with others, in a good running club, routes are considered for the slower riders or those just beginning to ride. Also in our club when you were riding we had a "rear view mirror" policy, if you could not see the person behind you, you stopped and waited for them, if after a few moments and you still don't see them then you turn around and go back.. Also riding with others you do develop different riding skills that will make you a better rider...

That's too bad, and I em sorry.. And really it's the primary reason why I haven't started anything here, I did feel bad about leaving, but I needed a job.. As much as I would have liked to have stayed it just was not possible... I had a crappy job that was seasonal, was living in a motel in New Haven, and was not making any head way..
It does sadden me that it's turned into just a bfast club, and no riding... It also saddens me that I was the one that kept it going and not the love of riding.. I had hoped that it would keep going....

That's it isn't it Rock, Those that make fun of these scoots have never ridden one... Have no Idea just what scooters are capable of... They are basing their opinions on Ignorance not experience.. When Fawkes was a Stroker, I was doing 35 on a hill I call "Scooter Killer" It's just a steep hill that will reduce a 50cc scooters speed to almost nothing, any way I went into that hill at 35 MPH, came out of it doing 45.. All I was actually doing was giving myself some space from the cars behind me, didn't know the cars behind me were my coworkers, needless to say they were very surprised a scooter could do that... They made sure to tell me once they arrived at work that they were behind me and it was them I was leaving behind... Again ignorance, they are comparing all scooters to the performance of a 50cc.... I was happy that day to educate them....

I hate it when Motorcycle riders think they have "Standards" ( One of my coworkers said that to me just last week ).. I told him he can have his "Standards" and he can pay for them.. The rest of the world, Europe, Asia, All drive scooters in much higher numbers than motorcycles.. I also told him that my vacation this year is going to be spent in the Philippines, paid for by the savings from the scooter.. He can have his "standards" while I'm out living life....
He shut up and gave me that defeated look..

Yeah, as you already know, i'm not quite after the level of performance that you are,I just want ample power without wot.all the time. And I also want to keep the stock airbox. Maybe I'll have to drill some extra holes or something.I do also need to do something about the variator Though . or at least i think so. Well I do have 5 3/8 holes drilled in the bottom of my airbox cover, this way the air still goes thru the filter, and the holes don't show to the world they are there. The performance I'm looking for is enough power not to be car or trucks splat, not to be driven into telephone poles or mail boxes by people that can't pass me properly, things like that, ohhh and I'm a 6'2" and weight 220 pounds so some power is needed for me.. Since Fawkes now has the good life, no longer out on Hwy's, or really needing speeds over 45 Mph I'm not going to power him like i did before. I have that 150 and Ill make that into a scoot and use it for the higher speeds when i need it. I'm still going to build another stroker that will fit in Fawkes and keep it as a backup. But my pushing him to his limits and beyond is no longer necessary. He's done his job getting me on my feet after being unemployed 2 years.. Now he and I are going to just enjoy the ride...

Hi Jack No I originally bought the Hoca tranny kit from Mainpeace, but to be fair I'm using very little of it. About all I ended up using from it was the clutch shoes, slider shieve, and clutch bell, I didn't use the 1500 yellow clutch spring, or the 1500 clutch shoe springs.
I should point out that 8500 rpms is 500 over redline, and I didn't hold that very long at all... I just wanted to see what Fawkes would do..

Well I finally got Fawkes running right. Air/fuel, gearing, variator... Gearing is back to stock 15/52, main jet is 100 with the diaphragm needle one up from the bottom, so about 98. Varitor weights are 8 gram Dr pulley sliders. Top speed is 50 running 8500 rpms. He's quick to accelerate, and climbs scooter killer hill while accelerating. 17/49 gears were just too much for 83ccs. But when my bigger rear tire arrives we will see how well that does.

I pulled out one of my stock cam's and looked at it, pictured it 180 degrees out, I honestly can't see how it ran at all....

I did away with the bullet connectors a long time ago. Never regretted it. Bought a male female connector set from Radio Shack, cut off the bullets, and wired in the Raido Shack ones. Covered them with dielectric grease, never have they let me down.
