How often should a battery be recharged?

The starter seems to catch, then turns over nicely, but hesitates to start. I'll double check my connections. The kick starter is stiff and stubborn.

I filled it myself per instructions... I checked the charger a few minutes ago and it was reading 50%. I'll wait a while and check again.

This scoot is new, despite being a 2011 model. I set the battery up in April when I received it. I'll check it with a voltmeter and see. The battery is on the charger in the meantime.

The voltage on my dash gauge drops tremendously when I press the starter.

Howdy! I'm currently running an oem battery in my 2011 Lintex I picked up this past April. I've adjusted my valves, etc. and am currently having starting issues. My oem battery shows 12v on the meter. Would a better battery give me better cranking (starting) performance (results)?

Thanks. I set the meter to once per revolution. The RPM readout appeared to be in a more realistic range on this setting.

Hello all. I recently purchased a digital tachometer an hour meter from Northern Tool. I purchased this so that I may do a proper mixture and idle adjustment after experiencing cut outs and stalling issues with my scoot. My question is... How many times does a spark plug fire per revolution on a four stroke scoot?

So, I have had my Lintex for a little over a month. I purchased it from powerrideoutlet.com, $1259 w/ free shipping. I have been keeping the speed down to in and around 25mph for the first 300 mi. per the manual. I am just shy of 300 miles and just changed my motor oil out to Rotella 15W-40, which I found a nice chunk of aluminum in the oil drain plug, and changed the gear oil with a Castrol 75W- . Would it hurt, now, to ride WOT? Or should I wait for the 300 mi. mark? Should I ease into it? Or just let it rip?

Valve adjust a must. Definitely double check lines, trimming off flared ends, and tightening the clamps. Need compression and vac to get fuel. Give it a shot.

Bummer. Did your boyfriend finance this scoot or buy it outright? Insurance runs quite a bit more if your ride is financed and insured for full coverage. I have liability only through USAA partnering with Progressive. I paid $76 for an entire year.

"Scootering is, for many on the scene, a second childhood. Not a mid-life crisis, but rather a return to a pleasure from their youth. You hear jokes about how arthritis is preventing many from changing gears and that one day soon the clubs will be full of mobility scooterists. There is real concern, though, that not enough young people are coming into the scene and that it could, before too long, die out."
