[replyingto=tvnacman]tvnacman[/replyingto]How will it suck gas if the vacuum is unhooked? Messed with the idle and it runs for a few seconds sometimes.

Brand new and only 1 mile on it, yes. Think it might have to do with removing the EVAP canister. Removed it because it got gas in it some how and it was recommended by Alleyoop on this forum to remove it and put a fuel filter on the gas vent hose, and plug the other 2 lines which made sense. I was informed that after they get gas in them they are bad and can cause problems. Believe it started and ran after I took it off though. Maybe petcock valve? Vacuum leak? Like I said it was starting almost instantly before and the nothing. Talking to my son and he said he did twist the throttle a few times without thinking about it the other day while talking to friends but I don't think that would do it. After it sits for a few minutes and I try to start it, it will sound like it is getting fuel for a second or so then it just cranks.

Just went out and started messing with the idle and backed it off 4-5 turns and it acted like it wanted to start but wouldn't a few times. backed it off more and still nothing. Went back the other way and still no change.

Got a BMS Heritage 150 with 1 mile on it. Got gas in the canister and took it off. Fuel filter put on the hose for the gas vent and bolts in the other 2 lines with the clamps that came with them. After I did this it ran fine. Flash forward a week or two and I go out to start it and it sounded like it wanted to start but didn't. After a couple of tries it just turned over without any combustion sounds. Let it set 20 min. or so and tried again. Same thing. Ran the battery down trying off and on. Charged battery over night same thing except I was able to give it a little gas and it revved a bit but then just shut down. This scooter has been in the garage and not driven except up and down the driveway to check it out a few times. After it sits a little while and first try to start it, you can hear gas and air combusting then just the sound of the starter turning the motor. Only hold the starter for a second or two. Prior to this happening it would start almost instantly. Any ideas? Did I mess up what I was suppose to do with the lines on the canister filter? Thanks

Well after looking around I found out where it went. Above the rear tire is a black plastic splash/mud guard and it is attached to the frame with two of these on the right side and this one had come off which made the guard rattle around a bit. Both were cut at an angle, usually cheap bolts are like this from my experience. Loctited that sucker and the other one then reattached it. Thanks for the input.

Well finally got around to getting the canister filter off and lines plugged and fuel filter put on. Run the scooter (BMS Heritage 150) down the driveway and there in my wake is a bolt with a rubber bushing that is divided into a thicker and thinner section. Got a washer at the top by the bolt head as well. Motor mount? Scooter kinda seems a little rough as far as vibration but it may have always been that way. Still gotta get my motorcycle endorsement so I haven't rode it yet. Big guy and I have a hard time getting under the scooter to see there, but I have in and out of the top area and haven't noticed anything like it before. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

Gas Leaking

[replyingto=alleyoop]alleyoop[/replyingto]The gas tank is on the bottom of the bike and the canister is above it already. Would it still get gas in it just by over filling? Gauge says 3/4 of a tank. I have run it off and on while doing a very slow going PDI. Has 3 hoses attached to it, so I guess they are the 3 you spoke of. Will do some searching online and eyeball where they are going. Just getting to this and that as I can. Wife and I still need to get a motorcycle license anyway so no big hurry. Thanks Alley.

Gas Leaking

Got home today and found a small puddle of fuel under the scooter. Still has under 1 mile on it. The only thing I did was use the side kick stand instead of the center one after I moved it this weekend. The gas seems to be coming out of a black plastic piece that has 3 vacuum hoses on one end and two nipples at the other end. The fuel is coming out of one of the nipples (the one with the arrow). Scooter wasn't running when this happened. Started it up and it runs and then after a minute gas starts coming out of it. Anybody got any ideas? Attachments:

Thanks a lot you guys. I will check things out tomorrow. Finding this forum gives me a lot of piece of mind about getting one of these guys. Learned a lot already and I think I can probably get to the point of being able to troubleshoot and fix it by myself without too much of a learning curve.

The cvt cover is the chrome area, correct? If so the oil isn't coming from there. It is coming out at the rear of the plastic where the air filter is. Didn't want to take it off until I knew what I was getting into.

Got a brand new scooter, never been started. Tried the kick start a few times, but waiting on the starter relay to come in that was missing when I got it. Noticed small oil leaks under it at the rear of the assembly that holds the air filter. Noticed a very small amount on the frame it was shipped on as well. I know the air filters get oil put on them. Is that what this is? From trying to kick start it? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Attachments:

Thanks. Called Superior Powersports and filed a claim with highly detailed pics. New starter relay being sent today or tomorrow. Talked to Howie and if he comes through he will be the guy I ask for in the future. Very responsive in returning calls and doubled checked the correct missing part with the technician who looked at my pics. New bolts for the front of the seat as well. Hopefully the threads in the frame aren't stripped.
